Abstract [sv]

Portsystem 2000 in Habo has developed what they call ''the new PC-standard for industrial doors''. It's a new product where a Linuxcomputer is placed at each door. This computer makes it possible to remotely administrate and surveil the door. The company wishes to have more applications attached to the computer. The aim of the project was to examine and if possible construct two prototypes. Portsystem 2000 has an electronic doorlock that they want to upgrade with a serial controller. The serial controller will increase the security and the functionality of the door. The other application was a new type of doorphone. It should be connected to the computer through the USB-connector. The advantage of this type of doorphone is that it will utilize the computer and it's network for communication. In this report is the result of the project presented. Moreover is a overview of Voice over IP discussed. The result of the two prototypes satesfies all requirements.
