Abstract [sv]

This thesis gives a overview of existing CAD configurators and also adds new functionality to the CAD configurator provided/developed by Cevican Technologies AB. The CAD configurator is based on software which, through an Internet interface, makes use of the API integrated in SolidWorks. User modifications are received from a file generated by a JavaScript, which in turn is created by an ASP module. In this way a user is able to create custom made CAD models and save them in four different file types; SolidWorks, IGES, STEP and Parasolid. The user also has the option to save the CAD model in two different versions of SolidWorks, the 2001 Plus and 2003 version. If an error would occur during execution of the code, a function reports this to an error log. This will also result in abortion of the current process.
