Abstract [sv]
The development of the building trade in the latest decades has given life to lighter constructions. The impact of this trend has proved to be the loss of some good qualities found in heavier constructions. In a development project at the Royal University of Technology in Stockholm, apartments has being built for guest research-workers. These apartments are made of a massive-wood construction. Considering the high amount of wood, the soundproof solutions and the fire protection projected for this system are two important and interesting items that are worth to be analysed. The aim of this report has been, by means of views, critics and suggestions from seven experts in the above mentioned fields, to reveal all the benefits and disadvantages, limitations and possibilities that the system implies. A comparison is done with two other types of constructions, a traditional wooden beam framework with massive floors and a construction of light steel framework.
