The Controller Library in ObjectStab

Abstract [en]
The Controller package is a newly developed library for models controlling generators in power networks. The library is interfaced with a powerful tool designed specially for simulating power network stabilities, called ObjectStab. Traditionally, simulations for transients and voltage stability have been modelled with other simulation programs, such as Simulink. The models in the Controller package are created in a modelling language called Modelica, which is a objectoriented language for modelling large, complex and heterogeneous physical systems. Today, the package contains models for controlling frequency, such as Primary Controls, Steam/Hydro Turbines and Boilers. Also, models for controlling voltage and protection of generators are created, such as Power System Stabilizers, Excitation Limiters and Exciters. This report provides a construction and function description of the synchronous machine. Furthermore, the mathematical relationship between frequency/active power and voltage/reactive power are explained. Finally, this report also shows some simulations of the models.
