Abstract [sv]
The Communicationmodule is a bachelors degree project developed at Halmstad University, comprising of 15 credits. The Communicationmodule runs on its own JVM and is an extendable middleware that distributes messages. It simplifies the task of producing software that needs to communicate, in means of removing the implementation of different protocols from that software to the Communicationmodule. Several clients are handled simultaneously and to increase performance many tasks within the Communicationmodule are executed concurrently. Modules for both input and output may be developed and attached to the Communicationmodule. This means that it can be used not only as a service provider, but also as a bridge between incompatible systems that wishes to exchange data. As the number of modules developed for the Communicationmodule increases, benefits such as reuse of code and saved hours of work will become obvious. The Communicationmodule is entirely written in Java, a modern object oriented programming language.
