Abstract [sv]

The study describes adolescent attitudes to different types of drugs and drug-abise. According to earlier studies, the attitudes to drugs are very liberal among adolescent students at high-school. The participants of the present study were 16 students at two different high-schools. The result of the interviews indicates that they don´t care if a friend uses drugs, if people getting in trouble for using drugs or if drugs exist aruond them. In other words, drugs are very common and young people don´nt care about it. The result shows that it is easier and cheaper getting drugs compaired to alcohol. In certain situations adolescents could start taking drugs, because of low selfesteem, involvement whith police or juvenile authorities after some troublemaking, problems in or with the family. A reason for taking drugs could be that the youngsters are lacking contact and support from their parents and they have the feeling not having rules finding are important to be aware of when creating a preventionprogram in school.
