Abstract [sv]

The one and only target in rally driving is to drive the fastest. Only the most skilled driver with the best equipment will win. In order to maximize both the driver’s and the car’s performance the tires’ properties are paramount. ‘There are a lot of rules regulating the design of the tire. To be able to compete the manfacturers must produce the best possibel tires within the limits set by the regulations. Therefore quality is very important. The objective of this examination project is to automate the procedure for drilling holes for studs in winter rally tires. At the company Bo Emanuelsson this procedure i carried our manually. Automatization will allow the studs to ve positioned more accurately and thereby increasint the tires’ performance. Better working conditions and shorter lead-times will also be achived.
