Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In today's global market, industrial companies face intense competition. To increase competitiveness, various types of production monitoring are increasingly being used. One example is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), which measures how effectively a machine is utilized. However, older machines often lack the sensors required to collect sufficient data.By retrofitting a machine, it is possible to begin gathering the necessary data to calculate an OEE score without investing in a new machine. The challenge of this project, which aimed to implement OEE on a 3217 GEKA punching machine, was determining which sensors to install and where, to ensure both accurate OEE data and uninterrupted machine operation.Through analysis of the machine's operational stages and discussions with the company, a plan was developed and implemented within the machine's working area. The sensors were connected via an IO-Link master to a CloudRail.Box, which transmitted the data to Microsoft Fabric. The data was stored in a KQL-database, and a real-time dashboard was used to process and visualize relevant metrics, such as the OEE score. The result was a solution that, with minimal operational impact, clearly presents the OEE score and other metrics in Microsoft Fabric. The project met the initial requirements and can serve as a foundation for further OEE implementations in the factory. However, the unique conditions of each new machine and alternative solutions should be considered.
