Denna studie syfte är att undersöka före detta kriminella kvinnors erfarenheter av återintegeringsprocessen i samhället. Fokuset ligger på hur kön och tidigare kriminalitet påverkar deras sociala identitet, livschanser och upplevelser av socialt bemötande. Studien är baserad på åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer och tillämpar en kvalitativ hermeneutisk metod för att analysera insamlad data. Den teoretiska referensramen bygger på begreppen social identitet, normer, stigma, med utgångspunkt från Judith Butler, Erving Goffman och Travis Hirschi. Resultatet visar att kvinnor upplever en dubbel stigmatisering, där de bryter lagen men även mot samhällets normer om hur en kvinna ska vara, vilket försvårar deras återintegrering. Studien betonar vikten av stödinsatser som är anpassade efter kvinnornas specifika behov och livssituation för att möjliggöra hållbar återanpassning i samhället.

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of formerly criminal women in the process of reintegration into society, with a focus on how gender and criminal background affect their social identity, life opportunities, and experiences of social interaction. The study is based on eight semi-structured interviews and applies a qualitative hermeneutic method to analyze the collected data. The theoretical teamwork is grounded in the concepts of social identity, norms and stigma, drawing on the works of Judith Butler, Erving Goffman and Travis Hirschi. The findings reveal that the women experience a double stigmatization, as they not only break the law but also societal norms regarding how a woman should behave, which complicates their reintrigation. The study highlights the importance of support measures tailored to the specific needs and life situations of women to enable sustainable reintegration into society.
