Abstract [en]

Today, a significant proportion of older people with chronic diseases do not adhere to their medication, which leads to serious health complications and an increased burden on healthcare. Significant memory loss, misunderstandings and a lack of adaptable aids are some of the factors that make adherence difficult. There is therefore a great need for an innovative solution that reminds and supports safe medication management in today's healthcare system.

The project began with a preliminary study, including needs analyses such as surveys and interviews conducted with patients, healthcare staff and relatives. The insights formed the basis for further development according to the Design Thinking method. Through several workshops, idea generation, sketches and CAD drawings, several solution proposals could be created, which ultimately led to the development of a sustainable solution.

Idag är det en betydande andel äldre med kroniska sjukdomar som inte följer sin medicinering, vilket medför allvarliga hälso- komplikationer och ökad belastning på vården. Hög minnesförlust, missförstånd och bristande anpassningsbara hjälpmedel är några av de faktorer som försvårar följsamheten. Det råder därmed ett stort behov av en innovativ lösning som påminner och stödjer en trygg medicinhantering i dagens vårdsystem. 

Projektet inleddes med en förstudie däribland behovsanalyser som enkäter och intervjuer har genomförts med patienter, vårdpersonal samt anhöriga. Insikterna låg till grund för vidareutvecklingen enligt Design Thinking- metoden. Genom flera workshops, idéegenerering, skisser och CAD- ritningar kunde flera lösningsförslag skapas, vilket slutligen ledde till framtagningen av en hållbar lösning.
