Med samhällets utveckling gällande kommunikationsteknologier har pornografi tagits från tryckta bilder till videofilmer som idag kan konsumeras i tryggheten av hemmet runt om i världen. Detta har lett till en ökning av konsumenter, frekvensen av konsumering samt en sänkning av åldrarna där pornografi konsumeras för första gången. Statistik visar hur nästan alla pojkar och majoriteten av flickor under 18 år exponerats för pornografi i Sverige där pornografins normer har stor påverkan. Denna studie undersökte hur pornografins normer påverkar unga kvinnors sexuella praktiker och erfarenheter. Detta genomfördes utifrån empiriinsamling av sju kvalitativa intervjuer av semistrukturerad karaktär med sex unga kvinnor mellan åldrarna 25–30 år samt en yrkesverksam barnmorska. Studiens syfte var att analysera hur pornografins normer påverkar unga kvinnors sexuella praktiker där förväntningar och press skapas samt hur detta påverkar beslutandet av egna sexuella gränser och behov. Till hjälp analyserades empirin med Albert Banduras (2015) teori om social inlärningsteori, Gagnon och Simons (2005) begrepp sexuella skript samt Connells (2013) begrepp hegemonisk maskulinitet. Studiens resultat ger en uppfattning om att unga kvinnor vittnar om pornografins normer och att detta påverkar deras sexuella praktiker. Resultatet visar även att mäns konsumtion av pornografi har en påverkan där normskapande beteenden och handlingar ges uttryck i unga kvinnors sexuella praktiker och upplevelser.   

With the development of society in terms of communication technologies, pornography has evolved from printed images to videos which can now be consumed in the comfort of homes around the world. This has led to an increase in consumers, frequency of consumption, and a decrease in the age at which pornography is first encountered. Statistics show that nearly all boys and the majority of girls under the age of 18 in Sweden have been exposed to pornography, where the norms portrayed in pornography have a significant impact. This study examined how the norms of pornography affect young women's sexual practices and experiences. This was conducted through empirical data collection from seven qualitative, semi-structured interviews with six young women between the ages of 25–30 and one practicing midwife. The aim of the study was to analyze how the norms of pornography influence young women's sexual practices where expectations and pressure are created and how this affects the determination of their own sexual boundaries and needs. The empirical data was analyzed using Albert Bandura's (2015) theory of social learning, Gagnon and Simon’s (2005) concept of sexual scripts, and Connell’s (2013) concept of hegemonic masculinity. The results of the study suggest that young women testify to the influence of pornographic norms and that this affects their sexual practices. The findings also show that men’s consumption of pornography has an impact, where norm-forming behaviors and actions are expressed in young women’s sexual practices and experiences.
