UX Designers and AI: What knowledge are they missing
Halmstad University, School of Information Technology.

Abstract [en]

Artificial intelligence is one of the most pervasive technologies in our society today, as it affects our personal lives and our work. For user experience designers, this means new challenges as their tools change and the expectations from companies of how much is produced change. This qualitative study aimed to understand what competencies user experience designers need to use AI in the design process. Through ten semi-structured interviews with user experience designers and a GIOIA method analysis, three major themes were uncovered regarding what competencies user experience designers need to acquire in order to use AI in the design process.
