Titel: Barnens delaktighet är A och O - En kvalitativ studie om våldsutsatta barns delaktighet i utredningsprocesser vid socialtjänstens barnavårdsutredningar 

Studien syftar till att undersöka hur socialsekreterare arbetar med delaktighet för våldsutsatta barn i socialtjänstens utredningsprocesser vid barnavårdsutredningar, samt att identifiera vilka arbetssätt som används för att involvera barn. Genom en kvalitativ analys har semistrukturerade intervjuer med socialsekreterare från utredningsenheter för barn genomförts. Det empiriska materialet har analyserats utifrån tidigare forskning, begreppen delaktighet, aktörskap och familialisering inom barndomssociologin samt Shiers delaktighetsmodell.  

Resultatet visar att våldsutsatta barns delaktighet i utredningsprocesser är av grundläggande betydelse för att utredningar ska baseras på barnets bästa. För att möjliggöra våldsutsatta barns delaktighet krävs individuella bedömningar där barnets ålder och mognad bör beaktas, samt lyfts vikten av en förtroendefull och kontinuerlig relation mellan socialsekreterare och barnet. Vidare pekar resultatet på att det finns ett antal hinder som försvårar barnets möjlighet till delaktighet. I studien framkommer att föräldrars inställning och påverkan är ett stort hinder, samt bristen på tid och resurser inom socialtjänsten. 

Utifrån studiens resultat är en tydlig slutsats att en tillitsfull relation är en central faktor i arbetet med att möjliggöra barns delaktighet. Samtidigt hindrar brist på tid och resurser möjligheterna att skapa den relationen, vilket i synnerhet är viktigt för barn som utsatts för våld. Ytterligare en slutsats är därtill att det krävs ökade resurser för att skapa förutsättningar för våldsutsatta barns delaktighet i socialtjänsten.

Title: Children's participation is key - A qualitative study on the participation of children exposed to violence in investigation processes during social services child welfare investigations 

The study aims to investigate how social workers work with the participation of children exposed to violence in investigation processes, and to identify which working methods are used to involve children. Through a qualitative analysis, semi-structured interviews with social workers from investigation units for children and young people have been conducted. The material has been analyzed based on previous research, Shier's participation model and the concepts of participation, agency and familialization in the sociology of childhood.

The results show that the participation of children exposed to violence in the investigation process is of fundamental importance for investigations to be based on the best interests of the child. In order to enable participation through adapted methods, individual assessments are required that take the child's age and maturity into account, as well as a trusting and continuous relationship. At the same time, several obstacles were identified, such as the attitude and influence of parents and a lack of time and resources, which make it difficult for the child to participate.

Based on the results of the study, a clear conclusion is that a trusting relationship is a central factor in the work of enabling participation. At the same time, lack of time and resources hinders the opportunities to create this relationship, which is especially important for children who have been exposed to violence. Another conclusion is that increased resources are required to create conditions for children exposed to violence to participate in social services.
