Abstract [en]
In Nepal, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) have a major impact on employment and GDP. On the other hand, Nepalese SMEs are implementing the Internet of Things. Over time it will become increasingly important to comprehend how SMEs and IoT are integrated. It is crucial to understand the utilization of integrated SMEs and IoT in Nepal to foster driving sustainable economic growth in a rapidly digitizing world. Romer (1990) suggests that “technological advancements contribute to increased output, efficiency, and competitiveness in various industries, driving economic growth”.
Despite the advantages, little is known about the lived experiences and perspectives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nepal about the use of IoT. This qualitative study aims to explore how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nepal are utilizing IoT. Specifically, the study will focus on how SMEs adopt and use IoT technology including its benefits challenges, and the need for prior knowledge to enable effective use. Following ethical guidelines this study interviewed seven sample participants in a semi-structured manner. The purposive sampling technique was used to choose the participants.
IoT technology according to this study boosts customer satisfaction productivity and management all of which help Nepali SMEs operate more successfully. In the future research should look at how IoT training programs affect the creativity and productivity of SMEs in Nepal over the long run.
