Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The background to the project is based on a need for further development of AJ ProdukterAB's sewing machine table "Ingrid". The sewing machine table showed major flaws that ledto the discontinuation of the product after many complaints. The sewing machine table has shown flaws already since the start of the product'smanufacture. The product's construction was complex, which led to long assembly times, which in turn increased labor costs. With low tolerances during assembly, it led to severalcomplaints where the product locked and could not be used as it should. During use, thesewing machine table is locked in three different levels depending on the sewing machinebase used to obtain a horizontal work surface with the work table. This too was incorrect andcould only get the sewing machine table horizontal with the work table at one of the threelevels. The project had hoped to reach the product stage but stopped at a working prototype. Thenewly developed sewing machine table has retained the basics of AJ Produkter's product"Ingrid". The prototype still has an enclosing box that stores and protects the sewingmachine. The protective box is still attached to the work table from the bottom via a spacer inthe top of the product. The new support system is powered by a gas spring that, with the help of a lever, pushes upand stabilizes the table during use. The sewing machine table is transported within fixedtracks with three different levels where the sewing machine table can be locked for use. Thetransport lanes are a prototype that the project constructed as part of the solution to theproblems.
