Bakgrund: Höftfrakturer är ett folkhälsoproblem som varje år drabbar cirka 1,5 miljoner människor världen över. Höftfraktur definieras som en fraktur på lårbenet. Vid höftfraktur upplever patienter akut smärta vilket kan leda till immobilisering som i sin tur medför en risk för komplikationer. Sjuksköterskor har en central roll i omvårdnaden och bör därav erhålla ett helhetsperspektiv som inkluderar patienters psykiska, fysiska och sociala behov. Syfte: Syftet var att belysa patienters erfarenheter av omvårdnaden vid höftfraktur. Metod: En allmän litteraturstudie med tio vetenskapliga artiklar som bearbetades och analyserades, vilket resulterade i fem kategorier. Resultat: Resultatet belyser både bristande och god omvårdnad. Patienterna upplever att stöd, smärtlindring, delaktighet samt bemötande är centralt i upplevelserna kring omvårdnaden. Resultatet omfattade följande huvudkategorier: erfarenheter av omvårdnad vid smärta, erfarenheter av att erhålla information från vårdpersonal, erfarenheter av delaktighetens betydelse, patienters erfarenheter av vårdpersonalens bemötande och patienters erfarenheter av resursbrist. Konklusion: För att kunna bemöta patienters omvårdnadsbehov behöver sjuksköterskorna ge tillräcklig information, adekvat smärtlindring, främja patienters delaktighet och ge stöd genom ett gott bemötande.

Background: Hip fractures are a public health problem that every year affects approximately 1.5 million people out of the world’s population. A hip fracture is defined as a fracture of the femur. Patients with hip fractures experience acute pain that can lead to immobilization which carries a risk of complications. The nurse has a central role in nursing care and should therefore obtain a holistic perspective that includes the patients psychological, physical, and social needs. Purpose: The purpose was to illustrate the patients' experiences of nursing care regarding hip fracture. Method: A general literature study including ten scientific articles that were processed and analysed, which resulted in five categories. Results: The result highlights both lack of and good care. Patients experience that support, pain relief, participation and treatment are central in the experienced nursing care. The results generated the following categories: the experiences of nursing care regarding pain, the experiences of obtaining information from healthcare staff, the importance of experiencing patient participation, patients experience of the treatment from healthcare staff and patient’s experiences of lack of resources. Conclusion: In order to meet the patients care needs, the nurse needs to provide sufficient information, adequate pain relief, promote patient participation and provide support through good treatment
