Cancer är en utbredd sjukdom i världen och i det svenska samhället. Behandlingen som följer efter en cancerdiagnos medför många och svåra symtom för patienterna, bland annat smärta, fatigue, gastrointestinala symtom och minskad aptit. Det finns ett samband mellan fysisk aktivitet och förbättrat överlevnadsodds hos cancerdrabbade patienter. Fysisk aktivitet rekommenderas genom hela sjukdomsförloppet samt eftervården och patienternas upplevelser av ämnet bör därför belysas. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka patienters upplevelser kopplat till fysisk aktivitet vid cancersjukdom. Studien utfördes som en allmän litteraturstudie. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades i resultatet och bearbetades genom en innehållsanalys. Litteraturstudiens resultat visade att patienterna upplevde en förbättrad fysisk funktion och ökat välmående av fysisk aktivitet. Inadekvat information från läkare och sjuksköterskor utgavs utgöra hinder för fysisk aktivitet. Olika personliga förutsättningar rapporterades även vara stora hindrande faktorer. Tillgång till kvalificerad personal som sjuksköterskor, läkare och fysioterapeuter identifierades som en av de motiverande faktorer som belystes mest av patienter. Fler studier föreslås utföras med syfte att studera i vilken utsträckning FaR används i praktiken samt sjuksköterskors attityd gällande personcentrerad vård och information relaterat till fysisk aktivitet vid cancersjukdom.

Cancer is a widespread disease in the world and in Swedish society. The treatment that follows a cancer diagnosis causes many and severe symptoms for the patients, including pain, fatigue, gastrointestinal symptoms and decreased appetite. There is a connection between physical activity and improved survival odds in cancer patients. Physical activity is recommended throughout the course of the disease and aftercare and patients' experiences of the subject should therefore be highlighted. The purpose of this literature study was to investigate patients' experiences linked to physical activity in cancer illness. The study was conducted as a general literature study. Ten scientific articles were included in the result and processed through a content analysis. The result of the literature study showed that the patients experienced an improved physical function and increased well-being of physical activity. Inadequate information from doctors and nurses was issued as an obstacle for physical activity. Different personal circumstances were also reported to be major barriers. Access to qualified staff such as nurses, doctors and physiotherapists were identified as one of the motivating factors highlighted most by patients. More studies are proposed to be carried out with the aim of studying the extent to which FaR is used in practice as well as nurses’ attitudes regarding person-centered care and information related to physical activity in cancer illness.
