Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) är en kronisk sjukdom som drabbar människor över hela världen. Symtom som hosta, ökad slemproduktion andfåddhet och andnöd är vanligt förekommande. Livskvalitén påverkas och utmaningar i det dagliga livet uppstår. Syfte: Att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheterav att vårda patienter med kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom. Metod: Studien utformades som en allmän litteraturstudie som utgick ifrån åtta vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna lästes i sin helhet flertalet gånger, därefter sammanfattades samt jämfördes artiklarna med varandra. Likheter och skillnader identifierades samt redovisades i fyra kategorier. Resultat: Fyra huvudkategorier identifierades; (i) erfarenheter av vårdrelationens betydelse, (ii) erfarenheter av kunskapsläget i vården, (iii)erfarenheter av personcentrerad vård, och (iv) erfarenheter av teamarbete i vården.Kunskapsluckor bland sjuksköterskor problematiseras och påverkar personer med KOL negativt. Personcentrerad vård beskrivs vara en betydande komponent för att åstadkomma ett partnerskap mellan sjuksköterskan och patienten som utmynnar i en god och trygg omvårdnad av personer med KOL. Konklusion: Sjukdomens komplexitet upplevs som svårhanterlig och det ställs höga krav på sjuksköterskor inom vården av patienter med KOL. Utbildning och ökad förståelse ger sjuksköterskor möjlighet att erbjuda patienten personcentrerad vård som är tryggare och säkrare.

Abstract [en]

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic disease that affects people all over the world. Symptoms such as cough, increased mucus production, shortness of breath and respiratory distress are common. The quality of life is affected and challenges in daily life occurs. Purpose: To illustrate the nurses’experiences of caring for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Method: The study was designed as a general literature review based on eight scientific articles. The articles were read in their entirety several times thereafter, the articles were summarized and compared with each other. Similarities and differences were identified and reported in four categories. Results: Four main categories were identified; (i) experiences of a significant care relationship, (ii) experience´s in the knowledge state in caring, (iii) experiences of person-centered care, and (iv)teamwork experiences in healthcare. Knowledge gaps among nurses are problematized and affects people with COPD negative. Person-centered care is described as a significant component in achieving a partnership between the nurse and the patient that result in a good and safe care of people with COPD. Conclusion: The complexity of the disease is perceived as difficult to manage and high demands are placed on nurses in the care for patients with COPD. Education and increased understanding give nurses the opportunity to offer the patient person-centered care that is safer and more secure.
