Abstract [sv]

Imagine how often in your daily life you are confronted with different types of surveys and papers to fill out. Transferring the information from paper into a computer takes time and effort. By using the Anoto digital pen on paper with Anoto functionality, written information can go directly into a computer without the extra work of retyping the information. We will in this thesis describe the developing and design of a digital paper survey for use at the hospital in Halmstad. The digital paper product looks like ordinary paper but contains a fine grid of dots covering the paper, which makes it possible to transfer written text on the paper into a computer. We will also describe how we developed an Application Service Handler to receive the written data from the digital pen. The Application Service Handler was developed in Java using servlets, and residing on a local Apache Tomcat web server. The information collected from the paper is received and interpreted into digital characters and stored for statistic use.
