Abstract [en]

This thesis is conducted on initiative of the authors themselves regarding the problems in the construction of today. One can almost everyday read in the newspapers about construction projects, which have been more expensive than what was initially planned. The thesis discusses how these cost control problems can be avoided. Furthermore it considers how a few companies in Sweden and Ireland have established their cost control systems and how well it is implemented. This thesis is based on information from literature studies and interviews with the companies involved.
