Abstract [sv]

We have worked together with Consilim Components AB in Varberg. They are planning to automatize the packingprocess of shims. Shims are very thin, finecutted steelwashers that are placed in adjustable shockabsorbers. We have developed a method for the feedingpart which is a part of the packingprocess.The shims have to be fed one by one to an inspection camera. There's no existing technique today which is able to feed the shims forward one by one, since they are so light and there's practically no friction beetwen them. There are more than 300 different kinds of shims and our method works for all kinds.We are using the difference in friction between different materials to separate the shims.
