Abstract [sv]
The possibility to live in your own home has been priority by the health care politics and in practice during the 80th and 90th this century. Even persons with a great need of care and attentions are given that right and possibility, but the experience proves that it was only practicable with extensive support from relatives. The tas for relatives to take care of long term illness and sometimes very care exacting relatives puts strike on their life, both physically, psychically and socially. The aim with this study was to illustrate relatives caregiving situation from a psychosocial perspective. The result is based on a examination of twelve scientific publications. Stress, burnout, social isolation, difficulties to express their own needs, lack of support and fatigue were caregivers psychosocial experiensis which was mentioned in the studied articles. Burnout was related to restrictions in their social life, while the biggest stressfactor was dealing with the system. Those caregivers who ran the reatest risk of burnout, was older women who took care of their husbands. The difficulty for relatives to express their own needs can depend on deficient of terminology, which also can influence the contact with the system. Maybee some deficients from the system can depend on burnout on the staff. To introduce a concept of analysis to facilitate caregivers difficulties to express their own needs, training in conversation methodology to the home caregiver staff and possibility to professional supervision would maybee lead to better suport and comprehension to caregivers from the professionals.
