    Abstract [en]

    During the last decades the structure of the audit market has undergone fundamental changes as a result of the mergers and scandals that have taken place. The number of big audit firms has decreased and the remaining ones dominate even more both nationally and internationally. After the financial crisis in 2008 the European commission has published a green paper on audit policy. Among other things the market concentration is highlighted as a problem. In connection with this we have conducted a study with the following research question: How do auditors at Swedish mid tier audit firms experience the Swedish market for audits of listed companies? The study focuses on four areas, these are: historical background, the Swedish market for audits of listed companies, barriers to entry and measures. To answer the research question we have used a qualitative research method with an abductive approach. The empirical material has been gathered through interviews with auditors at different audit firms, including four personal interviews and one telephone interview. The result of the study shows that auditors at Swedish mid tier audit firms experience the Swedish market for audits of listed companies as concentrated, competitive and desirable. There is a connection between the market concentration and the historical development, the audit firms’ different focus areas and the barriers to entry. Political measures can be adopted for the market concentration but not for internal barriers of entry such as contradictions within the audit firm.

    Abstract [en]

    Adoption is one of many ways to start a family on, however, it’s not so common in our society. When adoption is not usual, there is not much knowledge about the adoption process, therefore our aim was to explore the emotions that arise in the adoption process and how they are processed in both the individual and in the affinity. Our aim was to examine how the pairs and the individual dealing with emotions that arise in the adoption process, but also how the norms affect the view of adoptive parents. Then we wanted to see how the individual could go through the adoption process and if the parent group was important. We have performed four interviews with four couples that was part of the same parent group. The materials were analyzed according to three theoretical points, norms according to M. Foucault, T. Scheffs concept of shame and pride and S. Freuds defense mechanisms. By using these theories we concluded that adoption as a family formation is seen as norm-breaking, when the parents choose not to have biological children, our results also showed that parents used the defense to defend against anxiety and depressive feelings in different parts of the adoption process and that the parents' group had a significant impact.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to see if there is a relationship between health-promoting leadership and employee’s well-being. According to the hypothesis, and with knowledge in the field, individuals with high well-being should experience health-promoting leadership. The study was conducted with quantitative method using a questionnaire survey. Study participants consisted of 63 employees from health-care in southern Sweden. Results shows that there is a correlation between health-promoting leadership and employee’s well-being at the investigated workplace. The result in our study indicates that the correlation that earlier research concluded about health-promoting leadership and well-being is confirmed. However, future research should focus on making the link between health-promoting leadership and well-being clearer to gain further understanding of how the relationship works.

    Vårt syfte med studien var att undersöka hurvida skolgården användes av elever med hänsyn till fysisk aktivitet och lek. Vi ville även försöka synliggöra vilka fenomen som låg till grund för hur eleverna använde skolgården samt att få förståelse för hur lärare och elever tänkte kring sin skolgård. Vår valda metod grundade sig i fenomenografin och datainsamlingen genomfördes genom observationer och intervjuer av elever i årskurs 4-6 samt deras lärare. Vårt resultat visade att många elever tyvärr inte är så aktiva på rasten som de skulle kunna vara. Många elever var stillastående eller utförde aktiviteter som definieras som lågintensiva. Ett intressant resultat var också att eleverna själva ansåg att de var aktiva under rasten men observationen visade det motsatta.

    Abstract [en]

    The real estate market in Sweden in the current situation is found to be very attractive, which in return is influenced by number of elements such as interest rates, market conditions, etc. Real estate investments result in relatively large amounts, that is why investors like to be relatively sure regarding their investments, or at least that they are knowing to get their investment back in case of a sale. Real options are a complement to the calculation real estate companies does. Real options are used to take alternative solutions in regard, and also to contribute alternative values to the investment, which is mainly used if an investments outcome is not as desired. As a result to this complement to the calculation we wished to study the following: What can influence the application of real options in a real estate investing decision in private real estate companies?

    This study was done with a deductive method, and because of that a theoretical reference frame were formed, and afterwords investigate if the theoretical facts agreed with reality. To be able to compare the theoretical parts and the empirical parts, it was important that the empirical part was relevant to our subject. For the empirical fact to be as relevant as possible, this study was performed with a qualitative approach, and therefor four private real estate companies were interviewed, two bigger and two smaller. The real estate companies interviewed are active in the southern parts of Sweden.

    This study results in four conclusions drawn on the basis of the four interviewed real estate companies, regarding what can influence the application of real options in a investment decision. Three of the real estate companies finds that the risks with commercial real estates, and the external factors which influence market conditions affect their application of alternative solutions regarding their investments. All four of the real estate companies find that new incoming information and the experience, which the decision maker holds, affects application of real options. Thus, real estate companies must be able to know when and what alternative solutions to apply.

    Abstract [en]

    The theory chapter is based on a model about brand identity, “Brand Identity Prism” (Kapferer, 2008, s.183). This model contains six elements which we have supplemented with theories about personal branding. This because the focus and theory on a person's brand identity is almost non-existent. The purpose of the study is therefore to examine how editors at fashion magazines are working with their brand identity in the personal brand and thereby create an understanding of the identity function. The question our study aims to answer is: "How do editors of fashion magazines work with their brand identity?"

    To meet the objective and to answer the question formulation we have chosen to use a qualitative research method with a semi-structured interview. Interviews are conducted with Charlotta Flinkenberg, Hermine Coyet-Ohlén, Mona Johansson and Per Nilsson. All interviews are presented in chapter four "Empiri" and analyzed in subsequent chapters.

    The analysis of our respondents’ answers generated a modified model of Kapferers' Brand Identity Prism (Kapferer, 2008, s.183). We argue that this modified model shows a more clear picture of each of the factors impact on the personal brand identity.

    The results of the study show that culture, with values and core values as key concepts, serve as a base for the work with the personal brand identity.

    Abstract [en]

    In the early 2000s several major accounting scandals occurred in the world, which led to a crisis of confidence in the audit. ISA was introduced as a response to the 2000s auditing scandals that attracted international attention and aims to improve audit quality and consistency of the world. The study's aim is to gain understanding on the experiences auditors have with the implementation of ISA by describing and analyzing the auditors' experiences of the impact ISA brought on audit quality. The problem that this study based on is the following: How do the Auditors feel that the auditing quality has changed since ISA was implemented in Sweden? We have used a qualitative method with an abductive approach where both the theoretical framework and the empirical material has been the starting point for our study. The collection of empirical data consisted of personal interviews with eight auditors. The sample of respondents included both authorized and approved auditors from both Big-4 and non-Big-4 firms. Our study demonstrates that the audit quality hasn’t necessarily increased after the implementation of ISA, which was the purpose of the new auditing standards. The study further show that ISA´s not optimal for small businesses and diversified regulatory audits of small businesses can benefit small businesses where the cost today is greater than the benefit of the new auditing standards. ISA has also meant that the audit today become more expensive to implement, because more operations are required and the documentation has become more extensive, which takes time away from other review procedures.

    Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka sambandet mellan självkänsla, perfektionism, tävlingsängslan och självförtroende. Dessa fenomen samspelar och ger antingen positiva eller negativa utfall för atletens prestation och känslor inför tävling. Vidare var syftet att undersöka eventuella skillnader i ovan nämnda variabler mellan individuella idrottare och lagidrottare samt ta reda på om det finns några skillnader mellan könen. En enkätundersökning genomfördes med 101 deltagare från totalt sex olika sporter. Resultaten av PSPP-R visade att individuella idrottare hade högre fysiskt självvärde och global självkänsla än lagidrottarna. En möjlig förklaring till det är att det kan krävas en starkare självkänsla för att lyckas inom individuell idrott. Vidare hade lagidrottarna, enligt MPS, högre värden av oro över misstag och tvivel rörande handling. Inom lagidrotten uppstår en konkurrenssituation då hög prestation krävs för att inte ersättas av en bättre spelare, detta kan möjligen framkalla en högre oro för misstag samt tvivel. Könsskillnaden bestod i att kvinnorna hade signifikant lägre idrottskompetens, fysiskt självvärde samt global självkänsla. Få skillnader i perfektionism förutspåddes med bakgrund av tidigare forskning men en skillnad i tvivel rörande handling påfanns då kvinnor låg signifikant högre än männen. I tävlingsängslan (CSAI-2) fick kvinnorna högre poäng i både kognitiv och somatisk ängslan medan männen hade signifikant högre självförtroende. Dessa resultat kan tolkas som att det är långt kvar till jämställdhet mellan könen inom idrotten.

    Abstract [en]

    This qualitative study aims to investigate how the employees in the munipacility of Halmstad practice the vision - Halmstad 2020 and its value foundations in their working process. We have applied theories about communication, value-based and expressive leadership, leadership in public organizations and Human Resource Management. In total, we performed two interviews with informants, and ten interviews within two different administrations in the munipacility. We have also taken note of various documents that has been the basis of our study. The results indicated that several of the respondents experienced the vision as abstract and vague. It also appeared that communication about the vision was insufficient in the two administrations. Further, the results also indicated that leadership is an important matter in the working process towards a vision. Our conclusion is that the work towards a vision is covered by good communication, a value-based/expressive leadership and that a practice of human resources management are integrated in to the organizations overall vision.

    Aktionsforskningens syfte är att öka elevers delaktighet i ämnet idrott och hälsa genom att involvera dem i planeringsprocessen. Detta eftersom elever sällan tillåts vara delaktiga i utformandet av undervisningen och därmed saknar förståelse för dess syfte och innehåll. Studien präglas av ett relationellt perspektiv i strävan efter visionen om En skola för alla. Tidigare studier visar fördelar med elevinflytande och skriftliga planeringar i syfte att medvetandegöra elever om sitt lärande. I ämnet idrott och hälsa beskrivs att förutsättningar för detta många gånger saknas. Två aktioner, ett träd som konkretiserar kursplanens innehåll och en planeringsmall som skapar tillfälle för eleverna att involveras, planerades och genomfördes tillsammans med en medforskande idrottslärare. Aktionerna dokumenterades genom observationer, loggböcker, två reflektionssamtal samt en intervju med idrottsläraren och två reflektionsskriv av eleverna. Resultatet presenteras i kategorierna delaktighet, planering, tid och lärarens förhållningssätt. Slutsatserna är att eleverna förvaltar möjligheter till involvering genom att lyssna på instruktioner, svara på frågor och därefter presentera egna förslag och idrottsläraren beskriver denna involvering som positiv då den ökar elevernas medvetenhet. Studiens didaktiska implikationer är att grovplaneringar bör lämna utrymme för elevinflytande samt att införandet av nya rutiner måste få ta tid.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of the study is to investigate how unit managers work with sick leave due to work-related mental health in public elderly care. Based on the aim, four issues have been worked out to develop and increase understanding of the study's problem area. The methodology of the study is qualitative interviews with a hermeneutic approach and thematic analysis as a method of processing. The qualitative interviews were conducted with nine unit managers from two different municipalities in southern Sweden. The results showed that unit managers have latitude to work preventively to reduce sick leave and that differs from how rehabilitation is handled. Unit managers in elderly care have clear guidelines when it comes to rehabilitation while preventive work does not have it. Therefor, unit manager have latitude for working more prevention to reduce sick leave. All respondents understood that preventive work is an important factor in reducing sick leave, but that time and number of employees can make it difficult for preventive work to be prioritized.

    Matematik är ett ständigt aktuellt ämne. Enligt Skolverket ska lärare hjälpa elever att se matematiken i vardagen och ge möjligheter till grupparbeten.Tidigare forskning tyder på att elever kan ha svårigheter med vardagsnära matematik och grupparbete kan leda till en hög alternativ låg nivå av samarbete. Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur elever tillsammans kan arbeta med vardagsnära kontext inom ämnet matematik i grundskolans tidiga år. Forskningsfrågorna är: Vilka roller synliggörs i grupparbete med problemlösningsuppgifter med vardagsnära kontext? och Hur påverkas elevers arbete av den vardagsnära kontexten när de arbetar i grupp? Videoobservationer utfördes på två skolor med 11 elevgrupper. Två analyser genomfördes, en utifrån tidigare definierade roller och en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet visar att flera olika roller uppstår under arbetet och att rolllerna förekommer i olika stor utsträckning. Vidare visar resultatet att den vardagsnära kopplingen kan fungera som en motivation eller en distraktion. Slutsatsen är att tätt samarbete kan uppstå men även att samarbetet kan ligga på en låg nivå och att den vardagsnära kontexten kan påverka arbetet positivt och negativt. Slutligen efterfrågas svensk forskning kring vardagsnära matematik, problemlösning i grupp och de kooperativa rollerna i de tidiga skolåren.

    Ett kunnande i matematik är en viktig del för att bli en fullt deltagande individ i samhället. Lärare i de tidiga skolåren har en stor betydelse för elevernas grundläggande kunskaper och fortsatta lärande i matematik. Trots den uttalade vikten av att förstå den matematik vi möter i vardagen kan vi se hur svenska elevers resultat i anknytning till vardagsnära problemlösning försämras i internationella undersökningar. I denna kunskapsöversikt avsågs det att undersöka hur vardagsnära matematik kan används och påverka elevernas motivation och resultat. Resultatet visar att lärare har svårt för att koppla matematik och vardag fullt ut i undervisningen och att deras föreställda tillvägagångssätt och utförandet av matematikundervisningen skiljer sig. Vidare visar forskning att eleverna har svårt att finna och ta hänsyn till den matematik de möter i vardagen med skolans. Slutligen indikeras det att främst resultat men även motivation kan påverkas positivt av en vardagsnära matematikundervisning. Denna kunskapsöversikt implicerar att ytterligare forskning inom ämnet vardagsnära matematik är behövligt.

    Abstract [en]

    This study was conducted to explore the external sources of knowledge that are present around the eco-innovation firms. Our study has focused on eco-innovations with the aim  to find sustainable solutions, leading the reduction in greenhouse gases, on the extraction of renewable energy sources, since studies have indicated a link between the industrialization and the impact on the climate. 

    The purpose formulated for this study was to explore the external sources of knowledge that are present around the eco-innovation firms. By conducting this exploratory study we will contribute to existing research by adding empirical evidence to identifying what the external sources of knowledge are and further explore what kind of knowledge eco-innovation firms gain from these external sources. The participating companies in the study was chosen since they represent Swedish firms in the development of eco-innovations with the goal to minimize the environmental impact. 

    We conducted the thesis with a qualitative approach and the empirical data was gathered from four different companies in the field of wave and tidal power. The four interviews were executed through telephone interviews with both the researches acting as interviewers. The respondents were either the CEO of the company or a board member, since these persons were most likely to possess the relevant information for this study. 

    In our study we have found the external sources of knowledge to be of significant importance to the eco-innovation firms. Based on our theoretical framework, we have identified the external assets as suppliers, customers, competitors, governmental actors and research institutions. These external sources have different importance depending on the character of the knowledge that is gained. The external sources showed to contribute with important knowledge in areas of R&D capabilities, technology development, market orientation and regulation. By assessing the external sources of knowledge firms will unlock great potential knowledge that would otherwise be very costly. A conclusion was that as eco-innovation firms acquire knowledge by their external assets in parallel there are signals, unconsciously communicated going out to the external environment. Since our study has shown that academic experience among the founders seemed to have been helping the firms in their contact with governmental actors in order to attract subsidies and in the approval process for test sites, this indicates that what seems to be communicated from within the eco-innovation firms to their external environment is certain legitimacy, credibility and reputation that strengthen the relationship with governmental actors.

    This study was performed as a multiple case study on four different eco-innovation firms working with development of technology to extract energy from renewable energy sources in terms of wave and tidal power. Our choice to only interview one person on each firm, due to a limited time frame and resources, might make it hard to generalize the findings since there is a possibility of biased data. Other limitations that make it hard to draw to much from the results are the fact of focusing on a limited area on eco-innovation in only one country, since regulations play an important role this might differ between different countries.

    Abstract [en]

    The Swedish National Clinical Final Examination (NCFE) was established in 2007 in order to examine nursing students' clinical competence upon completing their Bachelor's degree in nursing. The NCFE constitutes an innovative method of examination, divided into two parts: a written and bedside test. The aim of this study was to evaluate nursing students' experiences of being assessed by means of the NCFE, in order to obtain information that could be used to improve the examination. A survey was conducted using a questionnaire with open-ended questions concerning the written and the bedside part of the NCFE. The answers from 577 third-year nursing students were analysed using content analysis. The nursing students regarded the NCFE as promoting further learning and as an important means of quality assurance. Its comprehensive nature was perceived to tie the education together and contributed to the students' awareness of their own clinical competence. The strengths of the NCFE especially highlighted were its high degree of objectivity and the fact that it took place in a natural setting. However, the students felt that the NCFE did not cover the entire nursing programme and that it caused stress. It thus appears to be important to reconsider the written theoretical part of the examination and to standardise the bedside part. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the use and the importance ofpromotional products for companies.     Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework includes theories regarding whatcompanies need to consider when choosing to use promotional products. The theories whichare used are based to on the four hypotheses which we have chosen to analyze.

    Methodology and Method: This dissertation is a quantitative study with a deductive andextensive approach.

    Empirical framework: The empirical framework present findings and statistics of theresearch.

    Analysis: The four hypotheses are analyzed and critical examined.

    Conclusion: If companies learn how use promotional products they will gain a greatadvantage on the market. The type of the industry is of great importance when it comes tochoosing the right promotional products.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to get a deeper understanding of which factors that influence a customer’s loyalty in the relationship between a supplier and a customer in B2B and how these factors are achieved?

    Frame of Reference: In the following chapter we present theory from previous research related to our research questions and purpose. First, a conceptualization of relationship marketing is outlined followed by theory regarding customer loyalty. Second, the selected factors of relationship marketing that can indicate customer loyalty are presented one by one.

    Methodology: In this chapter all the method choices to fulfill the thesis’ purpose and to answer the research questions are discussed and motivated. The choices for this study are comprehensive approach, qualitative method, a case study with one case company interviewing three informants.

    Empirical Study: In this chapter we present primary data that is collected for our study. It is collected through personal interviews with three informants at Getinge.

    Conclusion: Our conclusion is that satisfaction is more important that the other nine factors and that shared value and bonding are less important then the other factors. How they are achieved depend on the situation, the employee at Getinge and the customer in specific and there are no clear guidelines on how the should be achieved. Although there are no guidelines there are directions and the achievement of the factors are based on Getinge’s core values. The employees of Getinge are using the core values together with their individual common sense to reach the best result of customer loyalty.

    Att bedriva internationell verksamhet är ett omtalat fenomen då vi idag handlar mer med andra delar av världen, lär oss fler nya språk och reser längre bort än förut. Internationalisering har blivit allt viktigare för tillväxten av företag och det ses som en ofrånkomlig överlevnadsstrategi som bidrar till värdefulla erfarenheter och användbart lärande. Företag anpassar sin verksamhet till internationella miljöer genom ett innovativt, proaktivt och ett risksökande beteende vilket sträcker sig utanför den egna nationens gränser. De senaste decennierna har inneburit att världen dramatiskt har förändrats och därigenom även det ekonomiska samhället. Den globala marknaden har ändrat synen på landsgränser och geografiska avstånd vilket har lett till att världen numera är mer integrerad. Förändringar har också skett genom den teknologiska revolution som pågått en längre tid. Revolutionen har medfört att företag mer effektivt kan använda information, kommunikation, tillverkning och transport i arbetet med att anpassa sina produkter till utländska marknader. De företag som är mest anpassningsbara på internationella marknader är små och medelstora företag (SMF). Genom sin flexibilitet är de skickliga på att hitta nya internationella affärsmöjligheter. Dessa SMFs är ofta fokuserade på nischmarknader med specifika produkter som därigenom skapar efterfrågan runt om i världen. För små och medelstora företag är den internationella marknaden oerhört viktig och i Sverige har en av fyra SMFs internationella aktiviteter. Vårt syfte med denna studie har varit att identifiera och förstå SMFs internationaliseringsbeteende genom att besvara frågan: Hur har internationaliseringsprocessen gått till för tillverkande små och medelstora företag?

    I vår slutsats kom vi fram till att båda fallföretagen internationaliserat sig genom export och att de sedan investerat i dotterbolag på utvalda marknader. Företagen har till största del gått utomlands genom proaktiva motiv i strävan mot en högre lönsamhet. Enligt vår mening gick det inte att enhetligt beskriva fallföretagens utlandsetablering genom någon av internationaliseringsmodellerna. Vi förklarar istället processen genom att sammanlänka delar av dessa teorier till olika aspekter i deras internationalisering. Något som visade sig vara relevant i vår undersökning var betydelsen av nätverk i verksamheten och att entreprenörens roll i företaget hade stor betydelse för internationaliseringsprocessens utseende. Anledningen till att internationaliseringen skett på olika sätt har till stor del berott på den kunskap och erfarenhet som entreprenören och företaget besuttit vid dess utlandsetablering.

    influencers genom samarbeten på Instagram för öka möjligheten att få ett starkare varumärke eller nå ut med sina budskap. Till sist visar undersökningen på att organisationerna är medvetna om vilka risker som finns genom samarbeten med influencers.

    Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka gymnasielärares responsgivning, finna skillnader och likheter mellan teoretiska ämnen och ämnet idrott och hälsa samt belysa lärares upplevelser kring sin egna responsgivning. Fem gymnasielärare deltog i studien och som metod har observationer och intervjuer använts. Vid observationerna användes ett idrottspsykologiskt mätinstrument, Coaching Behavior Assessment System (CBAS), och en intervjuguide utarbetades till intervjuerna. Varje lärare observerades vid sex tillfällen, tre gånger i det teoretiska ämnet och tre gånger i ämnet idrott och hälsa. Dessutom genomfördes en intervju med respektive lärare för att ta reda på hur de resonerar kring sin responsgivning samt om dessa upplevelser överensstämmer med observationsresultaten.

    Observationsresultaten visar på att individuell respons är mest framträdande i lärarnas teoretiska ämnen. Responsen i form av instruktioner och organisation används oftare i idrott och hälsa, precis som gruppresponser, även om individuell respons används mer även under dessa lektioner. Responser av lärarna som är icke lektionsrelaterade gavs vid väldigt få tillfällen under de observerade lektionerna. Observationsresultaten visar också att lärarna ger fler responser/minut i de teoretiska ämnena jämfört med idrott och hälsa.

    Intervjuresultaten tyder på att lärarna upplever individuell respons som mest avgörande av de möjliga responssätten för påverkan av elevers motivation och lärande, vilket stämmer överens med observationsresultaten, framförallt inom de teoretiska ämnena.

    Tidigare forskning visar att elever kan ha svårt för att börja skriva berättandetexter och inspireras för att komma vidare i skrivprocessen. I följande studie har elevers arbete med berättandeskrivning studerats för att undersöka om genrepedagogik kan utveckla och stötta elever i sitt skrivande. Elevers kommunikation mellan varandra och med lärare var också väsentligt att undersöka för att få syn på eventuella svårigheter kring berättandetexters struktur och språkliga drag. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka och utveckla kunskap om elever och lärares användning av metaspråklig förmåga i arbete med elevers egenproducerade texter, inspirerat av genrepedagogik. Tillsammans med berörda skolor identifierades ett utvecklingsområde. Detta mynnade sedan ut i en gemensam planering utifrån genrepedagogikens fyra faser som innebär att arbetet börjar i ett mer lärarlett arbete och slutar mer elevstyrt. Studien är en aktionsforskning eftersom att genrepedagogiken initierades som en ny metod på skolorna. Allt material som samlades in skedde via videoinspelning och elevtexter. Resultatet är tänkt att svara på följande forskningsfrågor: Hur kommunicerar elever och lärare samt elever och elever med varandra om berättandetexters struktur och språkliga drag? och Vilka olika kriterier som nämns i helklassamtal om berättandegenrens struktur kan utgöra ett stöd i elevers egenproducerade texter? som mynnade ut i följande kategorier: Kommunikation mellan elever och elever samt lärare och elever och Helklassamtalets betydelse för elevtexterna. En övergripande slutats av resultatet är att en kommunikation sker mellan elever och elever samt lärare och elever, de använder sig av en metaspråklig förmåga för att prata om texters struktur och språkliga drag, eleverna kan med hjälp av genrepedagogiken utveckla sitt skrivande och kan finna ett stöd i genrens typiska struktur.

    Title: The impact of unemployment - About job seekers perceptions and experiences of unemployment and health

    The aim of this study was to examine how unemployed experience their everyday life and how their health is affected by being unemployed. Another purpose of this study was toexamine which challenges the unemployed are experiencing and how they are handled. Furthermore, this study aspired to see how unemployed can learn about its health during unemployment by experiences from themselves and others. Method: This study included six semi-structured interviews with unemployed, which lasted for 30-40 minutes each. The unemployed, participating in this study had been without work for at least two months and were registered on, or in the process of registration with Arbetsförmedlingen (Employment Service, the largest agency providing jobs in Sweden). Theory: The theories that are addressing both health and pedagogy are: sense of coherence (SOC), experiential learning and communities of practice. All of these three theories have formed the core of an analyzing table, which facilitates findings of correlation between empirical data and theory, in order to enable answers regarding the purpose of this study. Results: The results that emerged from this study indicated that the health of unemployed is affected by the self-efficacy of achieving their individual goals. Expectations from the social environment also seem to be a factor to the health of the unemployed. Resources in terms of financial security and social support also showed indications of contributing to a better subjective well-being. The majority of the unemployed in this study perceived that receiving employment was the greatest challenge. However, the causes of the perceived difficulties were varying and the obstacles were individual, such as lack of resources, lack of experience/education and competition on the labor market. The interviews also revealed that several of the participants had developed new “ideas/theories” that can facilitate the management of similar situations in the future. These new ideas may have emerged either through own experience or through exchange with other people. Conclusion: The health status during unemployment seems to be dependent of the individual’s manageability of the situation, as in accordance with the theories of experiential learning and self-efficacy, depends on the individual’s previous experience and self-efficacy.Thus the likelihood of receiving employment seems to increase if the individual has a strong SOC.

    Denna kandidatuppsats tar avstamp i fakta om det sexualiserade våldets omfattning. Avsikten med arbetet är att beskriva och analysera medarbetare på kvinnojourer, deras beskrivning av sexualiserat våld mot kvinnor i våld i nära relationer - hur det förstås, i vilket syfte och dess konsekvenser samt om pornografikonsumtion tycks vara kopplad till förövarens våld. Målet med uppsatsen är utöver redovisning av materialet även att genom genusvetenskapliga teorier och hermeneutisk kunskapssyn reflektera över varför sexualiserat våld mot kvinnor i nära relationer sker. Uppsatsens metoder är av kvalitativ karaktär och datainsamlingen framkommer genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna arbetet använder sig av är; genussystem, det idealiska offret

    – det motspänstiga offret, hegemonisk maskulinitet och våldets normaliseringsprocess. Uppsatsens resultat pekar på att våldet på samtliga kvinnojourer är omfattande och betydande. Resultat visar också att våldet beskrivs som främst uppdelat i två dimensioner: psykiskt och fysiskt som i grunden har sitt ursprung i makt och kontroll. Våldsdimensionerna beskrivs som återkommande i syfte att kontrollera och kränka sin partner som leder till att den utsatta partnern lyder, känner osäkerhet och tvivlar på sitt omdöme. Vidare visar resultaten att sexualiserat våld mot kvinnor i nära relationer beskrivs som svårpersonligt och rationaliserat. Det vill säga att våldet är mycket svårt att prata och berätta om. Detta grundar i stigmatisering av våldet och ger konsekvens av skuld och skamkänslor. Resultaten pekar även på olika sätt för kvinnor att hantera våldet hon utsätts för – hur våldet normaliseras för kvinnan och -eller visar motmakt mot våldet. Pornografikonsumtion tycks inte leda till definitivt våld. Däremot visar resultatet att pornografikonsumtion kan medföra svårigheter till relationen. Som att porren väljs före partnern och att konsumenten kan finna inspiration från porren samt genom olika utövande tvinga sin partner till olika handlingar, hämtade från porrens innehåll. Diskussionen och slutsatserna diskuterar de presenterade resultaten på en mer övergripande nivå och i relation till uppsatsens syfte och frågeställningar

    Abstract [en]

    The objective of this study has been to examine how a recruiting process may work in a highly skilled industry and how the involved Human Resources (HR) personnel describe it. Of particular focus was how the competence profile was used throughout the recruiting process. To meet this objective, two research questions were developed: How may a recruiting process work? How may the competence profile be used during a recruiting process and what obstacles and opportunities may consequently present themselves.

    The study was conducted utilizing the qualitative method. The results are based on seven semi-structured interviews conducted at an HR department at a highly skilled organization. We have used established theory about the recruiting process, competence profile, about decision-making and the various perspectives on recruiting.

    The results show that the recruiting process generally is a formalized process and contains pre-defined steps and various selection methods. In the end, the decision is made based on a comprehensive and all-inclusive review of the applicant. The study also shows that the competence profile is considered valuable, although not always of a top priority. Moreover, the study shows that the competence profile enables the identification of the recruiting need, facilitates matching of applicants, and is used to support decisions throughout the process. Noted obstacles were time constraints, an already biased view due to the previous employee which held the position, and that a favorite candidate existed early on in the process.

    Globala konflikter har under 2010-talet utmanat den Europeiska Unionen på många sätt ochdärmed har migrationen blivit ett prioriterat område på den europeiska agendan. Dennauppsats studerar EU:s migrationsdiskurs under tidsperioden 2011-2016 för att analysera deneuropeiska identiteten och hur vi och dom konstrueras inom diskursen. Uppsatsen tar sinutgångspunkt i tidigare forskning inom området och de teoretiska och metodologiska ramverksom ligger till grund för uppsatsen. Studien bygger på en modernistisk identitetsteori medfokus på antagonism och utgår från diskursanalys som metodologiskt tillvägagångssätt medinfluenser från diskursteoretikerna Ernest Laclau och Chantal Mouffe samt av andradiskursiva analysmodeller. De empiriska materialet studeras i form av migrationspolitiskadokument från EU-kommissionen och analyseras utifrån teori och metod.Sammanfattningsvis avslutas studien med resultatet att EU inte konstruerar ett tydligt vi menatt det finns flertalet tydliga dom, där vissa ses som en tillgång för EU och andra somantagonister.

    Abstract [en]

    One of the world's main standard-setters in accounting standards is the International Accounting Standards Board. The project to revise the Conceptual Framework is ongoing. The Conceptual Framework sets out the basic concepts for financial reporting. This study will concern proposals regarding the definition, recognition and derecognition of liabilities. Various stakeholders have been given the opportunity to comment on these proposals through Comment Letters (CL) on a previously released Exposure Draft (ED) 2015.

    The purpose of this study is to account for the different interest groups' attitude towards the proposal for the definition, recognition and derecognition of liabilities in the IASBs’ Conceptual Framework. Furthermore, the purpose is to examine the underlying reasons why they have positive or negative attitude to the proposal. Finally, the purpose is to examine whether the need for information differs between the interest groups in terms of definition, recognition and derecognition in the IASBs’ Conceptual Framework.

    The contribution of the study is to contribute to a greater understanding of the subject, as well as to benefit the standard-setters and the future process for standard-setting. This is done by identifying the different stakeholders attitude towards the proposals and why. Since it is important that the interests of stakeholders will be taken into account in order for the Conceptual Framework to be widely accepted, the study's results will be a contribution to the continued development of the Conceptual Framework.

    The study is based on the CL submitted to the International Accounting Standards Board before October 26, 2015, which was the last date to leave a CL on ED 2015. The study has been limited to, include only CL from standard-setters, accounting professionals, banks, companies and academics. The study consists 125 CL. Then a document examination with an inductive approach has been made.

    The result of the study shows that a majority of stakeholders are in favor of the proposals regarding the definition, recognition and derecognition of liabilities. Banks are the only interest group who disagrees with the proposal, which may be because they are worried that the proposal opens up for the opportunity for companies to make an assessment of the accounting method they themselves should choose. However, all stakeholders want more guidance in the Conceptual Framework. Furthermore, it can be concluded that stakeholders wish for a more rule-based Conceptual Framework. Based on the results of the study, it can be noted that the project to revise the Conceptual Framework should continue as there are unclear principles that need clarification.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med det här arbetet var att undersöka hur huvudkaraktärerna i tio barnböcker rent språkligt gestaltas ur ett genusperspektiv i en jämförelse med de traditionella stereotyperna för vad som anses manligt respektive kvinnligt. I studien undersöktes även likheter och skillnader mellan positivt och negativt laddade ord ur ett genusperspektiv. Metoderna för undersökningen gick ut på att först dela in de personbeskrivande orden i barnböckerna i tre olika semantiska kategorier: känslor, psykiska egenskaper och fysiska egenskaper. Sedan gavs orden en positiv eller negativ laddning.Baserat på de vanligast förekommande orden finns ingen skillnad mellan beskrivningar av manliga och kvinnliga huvudpersoner. Baserat på alla förekommande personbeskrivande ord finns dock en skillnad mellan ord som beskriver manliga och kvinnliga huvudpersoner. Resultatet följer de traditionella genusstereotyperna vi har om manligt och kvinnligt: nämligen att pojkar beskrivs som skyddande och flickorna som omtänksamma och omsorgsfulla. Denna skillnad tyder dock på en mer jämställd situation, jämfört med studier av barnböcker från 1960-talet. Två tredjedelar av de personbeskrivande orden är negativt laddade. Jag kunde inte se någon skillnad mellan positiva och negativa laddningar på orden i en jämförelse mellan manliga och kvinnliga personbeskrivningar. De stereotypa beskrivningarna av manliga och kvinnliga personer överensstämmer även med vissa av huvudkaraktärerna i de enskilda böckerna.

    Nystartade företag är viktiga för Sveriges ekonomiska tillväxt. I tidigare studier diskuteras att företagsledare i nystartade och små företag ofta saknar kunskap om redovisning och behöver rätt verktyg för att lyckas. Fram till november 2010 fanns revisionsplikt för alla bolag i Sverige där en revisor granskar ett bolags räkenskaper för att kvalitetssäkra att redovisningen inte innehåller några väsentliga fel. Sedan revisionspliktens avskaffande är det fler företag som väljer bort revisorn vilket har skapat möjligheter för yrkesgruppen redovisningskonsulter i Sverige. En redovisningskonsult kan anlitas för upprättandet av de finansiella rapporterna och har större möjligheter att ge företag rådgivning inom en mängd områden. Med redovisningskonsultens växande roll tillsammans med nystartade företags viktiga bidrag syftar denna studie till att kartlägga vilka rådgivningstjänster ett nystartat företag efterfrågar från sin redovisningskonsult. Vidare syftar studien även till att analysera om det föreligger samband mellan den rådgivning ett nystartat företag efterfrågar från sin redovisningskonsult och företagsledarens kunskaper, intressenter och bransch. I den enkätundersökning som genomförts med nystartade företag kunde resultatet inte påvisa några statistiskt säkerställda samband. Däremot kunde en sammanställning av de vanligaste rådgivningstjänsterna för nystartade företag tas fram. Detta bidrar till att redovisningskonsulter kan fokusera på dessa områden i kontakten med nystartade företag och således ge dem större möjlighet till att lyckas och därmed bidra till ökad ekonomisk tillväxt i Sverige.

    Abstract [en]

    A bank loan is the primary source to meet the capital needs to finance an investment for a company. A credit is always associated with a risk and banks main risks are associated to their credit. In recent years, credit losses have increased for some of the Swedish banks. According to “Finansinspektionen” (Swedish financial inspection), a large part of the credit losses consists of loans for commercial real estate. There are three types of risks associated with granting loans: credit risk, liquidity risk and market risk. It is important that creditors identify the risks associated to the credit in order for the bank to avoid credit losses in the future.

    The purpose of our study is to find out how Sweden's major banks are working with risk management when credit rating a customer and revaluating risk during the operating credit period. We also examined how banks appraise a property to be mortgaged. This study is based on a qualitative methodology where we have used a semi-structured interview when interviewing representatives from each of the four major banks in Sweden; Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank.

    The results shows that banks identify and manage the risks and uncertainties associated with granting loans by working on the basis of guidelines and policies. However, there are no guidelines for how the soft factors must be analysed when credit rating, even though they are very important to the banks. When appraising commercial real estate in connection to credit rating the banks use multiple valuation methods to ensure the value of the property. The study also shows that banks are working similar because of the fact that they are highly regulated and supervised.

    E-­‐learning har de senaste åren blivit ett populärt sätt att bedriva utbildning.Geno me-­‐learning ges möjlighet till flexibelt lärande vilket innebär att studenter kan studera oberoende av geografiska och tidsmässiga aspekter, genom så kallade lärplattformar. Dock har vissa problem med formen på utbildningen upptäcks där brist på kommunikation och samarbete lyfts fram som viktiga faktorer. Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur lärplattformar används av lärare för att stödja kommunikation och samarbete inom e-­‐learningkurser. Genom en empirisk studie bestående av intervjuer med lärare kunde de främsta problemen angående kommunikation identifieras och lösningar på dessa erbjudas. Dessa visar på att möjligheten till direkt kommunikation mellan studenter och gentemot lärare är den främst bidragande faktorn till problemen. Studiens resultat visar på att lärplattformar och lärare borde möjliggöra och främja direkt kommunikation mellan studenter genom såväl design som kursupplägg.

    Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur verksamma pedagoger resonerar kring konflikter som kan uppstå. De 18 medverkande lärarna tjänstgör endera på högstadie- eller gymnasieskolor i Hallands län. De frågeställningar som uppsatsen baseras på är: Hur väljer lärarna att hantera konflikterna i de fiktiva fallen? samt Vilka konflikthanteringsmodeller ger lärarna uttryck för? Tidigare forskning kring ämnet visar att lärare och lärarstudenter upplever en okunskap angående hur konflikter i skolan kan hanteras, vilket motiverar valet av uppsatsämne. Uppsatsens teoretiska utgångspunkt grundar sig i tre perspektiv på konflikter: relation, kommunikation och makt som sammanfattas i ett analysverktyg. Studien lägger därför stor vikt på huruvida informanterna identifierar dessa perspektiv, samt vilka metoder som används för att lösa konflikterna. Analysverktyget tillhandahåller centrala teman som utgör grunden för vidare analys och diskussion.

    Abstract [en]

    The essay is completed at one of Sweden's institutions in inpatient treat boys, 15-21 years old, sentenced to compulsory treatment under the “Act on the Care of Young Persons”, LVU or “Act of youth custody”, LSU. The purpose of the study is to increase understanding of how the treatment is inpatient care. The survey is based on a qualitative study through  interview with the treatment staff at the institution. The interview is based on previous research that deals with criminal identity, registerdata- patterns in compulsory care, development and treatment of destructive behavior and ADAD- a investigative instrument. The results show that the majority of young people have had a difficult childhood marked by alienation, that causes low self-esteem and often abuse, and crime. The staff's task will be to motivate and strengthen the individual to himself and give him the power to re-integrate into society framework. The analysis of the results is made from a sociological perspective where we started from the Established and the outsiders, Micro Sociology and Empowerment. It shows that the stigma amplifies the youngster's destruction. The arrival at the department is characterized by shame and it is necessary for the youngsters that it becomes manageable. This is done through the connection  the youngsters have to the staff that brings confidence and motivation, which is necessary to create empowerment.

    Kunskapsöversikten berör bildens betydelse för läsförståelse med hjälp av stöttning och samspel. Artiklar och avhandlingar har sökts genom olika databaser med hjälp av olika sökord. De artiklar som har varit relevanta för att ge svar på kunskapsöversiktens syfte har analyserats och skrivits fram i bakgrunden och framförallt i resultatdelen. Merparten av resultaten visar på bildens betydelse för läsförståelse och att lärarens insats är betydande då det krävs olika strategier för att lära sig att läsa en bild men för en del elever är bilden ett hinder för läsning. Flertalet elever genomför läsningen av bilder på ett självklart vis men för andra krävs det ett regelbundet arbetssätt och stöttning för att öka läsförståelsen. I dagens högteknologiska samhälle är begreppet literacy ständigt aktuellt då symboler med eller utan text finns i omgivningen. Vidare forskning kan utföras genom en etnografisk studie där bildens betydelse för läsförståelse undersöks. Med en önskan och ett hopp om en vidare aktionsforskning där bilden införlivas och den auditiva delen lyfts fram. Sammanfattningsvis är bildens betydelse i samspel med stöttning och digitala verktyg av stor vikt för att möjliggöra inkludering då vi alla är, lär och utvecklas olika.

    Abstract [en]

    This article is an argument in favour of the importance of having different perspectives for different situations in marketing. Since the 1990s, relationship marketing has become an accepted stream in marketing research. However, this type of marketing consists of many different perspectives. Here, the network approach is covered. Its origin and its divergence from the mainstream marketing mix approach are discussed. It is concluded that Swedish culture and context influenced the development of the network approach. However, the network view is not pertinent to all marketing situations in Sweden and the approach is also useful outside of the Swedish context. Finally, it is argued that marketing research should benefit from many different perspectives and approaches that could be applicable to different marketing situations.

    Decision-making in born globals - effectuation or causation?2011Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Purpose

    The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding of a born global firm’s early internationalization process and the entrepreneur’s decisions regarding internationalization by using effectuation theory.

    Design/methodology/approach

    An explorative case study is used to explore if effectuation theory is a fruitful alternative perspective compared with the dominant paradigm (causation), which is primarily used in earlier studies on born globals.

    Findings

    The study shows how a born global company could enter many markets in short time, by co-operating with local network partners. The founders’ prior knowledge and networks were important to understand the rapid international expansion. Effectuation theory focuses on the entrepreneurs’ ability to create opportunities together with network partners and is a useful tool to understand the development in the born global firm.

    Research limitations/implications

    The study shows that effectuation theory holds promise for developing the international entrepreneurship area. Future research is recommended to focus not only on the entrepreneur’s competencies but also on the entrepreneur’s behaviour, including during the time before they started the firm.

    Practical implications

    Decision-makers in the early development of born global firms are recommended to use his/her own and his/her company’s resources and network. Also advantage should be taken of opportunities when they are recognized or created, instead of focusing on traditional planning activities.

    Originality/value

    There are few studies which have used effectuation theory as a basis for understanding the early development of a born global firm.

    Principal Topic

    High growth firms have shown to be an important factor for creating jobs in the economy at large. It has therefore been an increasing interest in this phenomenon from media, politics and academia. In spite of a large research effort, the knowledge about this phenomenon is still limited because there are few common results regarding the factors of importance for the creation of high growth firms. Some researcher claim that the entrepreneurs’ characteristics and the firms network and microenvironment are important whereas other claim that institutions in society in large are the most important factors. The purpose of this study is to deeper investigate the characteristics of high growth firms and to explore the factors that can explain the development of those firms. As earlier studies about high growth firms in Sweden has shown a strong connection between growth and internationalization, the firms international development will be highlighted.

    Method

    In an earlier study seven different types of firms were identified based on secondary data. In this second study, deep case studies will be conducted to get a deeper understanding of why these firms grow. Here the elite of the elite of the different types, super growers, will be further investigated. Super growers achieve higher growth in sales, organic employment and total employment than other groups in absolute and relative terms. Super growers were over-represented in young and growing industries, such as the business system industry. Three Swedish companies in that industry are chosen as case companies. Historical and a real time information will be collected. Secondary data and personal interviews will be used. The different cases will be confronted with each other and different theoretical approaches will be confronted with the cases in order to generate new knowledge about high growth firms.

    Implications

    This research intends to have implication for academia, practitioners and policy makers. For academia this explorative research intends to identify which factors that are important to understand the phenomenon of high growth firms. Practitioners and policymakers can learn from these findings and if the intention is to create high growth and job creation, concentrate on actions that will favor that development.

    Abstract [en]

    This paper analyses growth patterns in three high-growth Swedish firms (Intentia, IBS, and in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) industry. A multi-theoretical framework is developed and used to analyse the firms' growth. It is concluded that growth is a complex phenomenon that has to be viewed from different theoretical angles to be understood. It is shown that entrepreneurs' intentions, international growth strategies, organic organisations, industry structure and networks, and national cultures are all factors that influence firms' growth.

    This paper continues with a discussion on earlier research on entrepreneurs in international new ventures. It can be concluded that research that has shown that the entrepreneur is an important factor to understand the inception and development of INVs. It can also be concluded that the research, so far, has came up to somewhat different conclusions and focused on different aspects on how entrepreneurs influence firm’s international behaviour. Following the above discussion earlier research on entrepreneurs and firm’s international development is discussed next in this paper. It is concluded that the entrepreneur’s cognition and action is instrumental to understand firm’s international development. To build international ventures the entrepreneurs need to adapt to different context and build an organization that can continue to grow internationally. A global mind-set is important to see and act on international opportunities. The paper concludes with some practical implications.
