    Abstract [en]

    The aim of the study is to create a deeper understanding of which factors perceived to promote the return to work after a long-term sickness in mental health, based on the perspective of the sick-listed. The study is based on Karaseks and Theorells model consisting of demand, control and a theory development of social support in relation to demand and control by Jeffery Johnson. The study is also based on the theory ”a Sense of Coherence”, abbreviated KASAM, developed by Aaron Antonovsky. In order to gain a deeper understanding of which factors perceived to promote the return to work after a long-term sickness in mental ill-health, five interviews were conducted. The results in this study shows that support and communication with employers and colleagues is a success factor when returning to work. It also appears in the study that job training is a success factor but can inhibit the return if it is not reality-based. Participants in this study argues that lower demands and higher self-control are promotions in the return process. Finally, it also emerges that the return is facilitated when the individual feel a sense of coherence to the workplace and the working group.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med studien var att undersöka den upplevda motivationen och arbetstillfredsställelsen hos förskolepersonal. Undersökningen genomfördes med en kvalitativ metod med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer med totalt nio respondenter. Teorierna som användes var Warr´s vitaminmodell, Self - Determination Theory (SDT) samt subteorin Cognitive evaluation theory (CET). Resultatet visade att samtliga respondenter upplevde hög motivation kopplat till sitt arbete samt upplevde hög arbetstillfredsställelse. Majoriteten av respondenterna lyfte upp goda relationer med barn, föräldrar och kollegor som betydelsefulla för motivationen. Analysen visade att belöningar påverkade motivationen olika mycket, och den verbala belöningen var den belöning som majoriteten av respondenternas uttryckte vara deras främsta källa till motivation. Studien tydde vidare på att autonomi var viktigt för respondenternas upplevda arbetstillfredsställelse. Respondenterna uppgav att arbetstillfredsställelsen ökade när det fanns en högre grad av kontroll kopplat till arbetet. Studien visar även att det fanns en bra sammanhållning i organisationen, vilket kan vara en bidragande faktor till den höga motivation och arbetstillfredsställelse som rådde i organisationen när undersökningen genomfördes. Slutligen diskuterades det om den inre motivation som respondenterna uppvisade är så pass hög att respondenterna skulle kunna arbeta utan lön.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study was to broaden the knowledge about organizational change towards an agile organization through exploring how the faktors; structure, culture, agility och psychosocial work environment interacts during this process and how the relationship manifests in practice. To achieve the purpose, the fowling questions guided the way:

    • In what ways can older organizational structures and organizational culture affect agile organizational change?

    • What effects on the psychosocial workplace environment may an organizational change towards agile organization generate.

    This qualitative study with deductive approach was based on an organization where the implementation of the agile form was conducted three years ago. The collection of data was based on three semi-structured interviews with representatives from HR, the union and the research team witch also has conducted a study of the organization. Content analysis was use as a method of preparing the data for the analysis, which was done so though a model based on the theoretical  starting points and previous research that have founded this study. The conclusions drawn by this study shows that parts of the organizations older structure an culture still are present inte the new organization and that they inhibited the anchoring of the new approach and way of working . The same situation applies to the opportunity of improved psychosocial work environment where the dominance of the older organizational form resulted in the opportunities remaining just that - in the areas of the organization where it wasn’t impaired.

    Abstract [en]

    The purose of the study is to increase knowledge regarding systematic enviromentarl work in an organization that works with road services. Work on the road is done in a hazardous environment with constant danger regarding the life of the individual. The site of the work varies in accordance with where the needs ae . This requires skilled workers capable of working independently and that they are experienced din doing their own risk assessments in accordance with the individual believes that the situation calls for work to be performed safely. The study was conducted with a qualitative research approach in which four employees of different positions, knowledge, experience and vision to work in a hazardous environment were interviewed. The focus rests on the organization, management, and individual aspirations for a safe and secure working environment. The study adds weight to the relationship between the purchaser of the work and the organization as a prime contractor due to the compexity of the organization. Current safety legislation and related regulations are presented for an understanding of what conditions the work is performed in, Furthermore, I have focused efforts on a number of variables including motivation, safety behavior, safety climate, risk and risk perception. The survey results shows that the work on the road is specific in nature, communication with the climate and motivation of safety is of great importance to create a safe and secure environment for the skilled worker to reside in.

    Abstract [en]

    The working life of today has become more team focused. It is common to work in differentgroups which puts high demands on managing inter human relations. The leadership has a biginfluence on the workgroups productivity and efficiency hence it requires an active role fromthe group leader.By using a qualitative method, this study examines how leaders lead effective teams. Wefocused on what leadership style the leaders had, how the leaders exercise their leadership ondaily bases and how the leadership style is perceived in the effective teams. The study wasperformed at a national sales organization in Sweden and we used semi-structured interviewsas method. We interviewed the three most effective teams and their leaders in theorganization, with focus on the leadership.The result shows that all leaders mostly use a transformative leadership but also haveinfluences from other leadership styles. The leaders exercise their leadership by support,consultation, communication and encouragement. Results-Based Management is also a bigpart of the leadership exercise since the organization requires the team members to haveindividually daily, weekly and monthly goals to reach.

    Abstract [en]

    The study aims to examine gender equality and the perception of equality in a municipal administration. The ambition is that from a gender perspective to identify areas for improvement and make suggestions on strategic gender equality and sustainable gender development in the administrations different units. In our study we have used a qualitative approach in order to reach a deeper understanding of how respondents perceive and look at gender and gender equality in the administration. In order to achieve such understanding we have made a total of ten semistructured interviews which one of these ten was an informant interview. We used Kvale's sentence concentrator where the larger sentences that respondents stated were formulated more concentrated in order to facilitate the analysis of our empirical data. The result of this study indicates that respondents have different perceptions of what equality is and means. Employees and employers may not get enough information in terms of gender equality, and most are not aware of administration's equality plan. In doing so, they cannot apply or work from gender perspective in the administration's daily work.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of how managers work with theiremployee’s psychosocial work environment. The questions asked are: What are managers inthe studied organization doing actively to positively influence the psychosocial workingenvironment? What are managers in the studied organization doing actively to preventnegative stress? What conditions in the work included in the psychosocial work environmentaccording to the managers in the studied organization?To answer these question, we have applied a qualitative method consisting of face-to-faceinterviews with eleven subjects whereof five male and six female line managers in a FinancialServices company in the private sector.The study shows that there is some ambiguity as to what the definition of the psychosocialworking environment actually is. Clear communications and an inclusive workingenvironment were mentioned as key factors by all managers. In relation to preventingnegative stress, the consensus is that early detection to distribute workloads and tasks at anearly stage to be able to distribute work across the team when required. Our group showedvery differing views on the definition of the subject and applied differing methods andtheories on how to positively influence the psychosocial working environment. The definitionof negative stress is more clear and the opinions are more cohesive in relation to how toprevent and reduce negative stress.

    Abstract [en]

    The daily workplace for a temporary agency worker takes place at a client company, and not at the employer. This can weaken the contact with the employer, which can create special conditions for organizational commitment and social support. The purpose of the study is to examine the perception of being employed in a pool of substitutes at a temporary work agency, focusing on organizational commitment and social support. The issues underlying the study are how the respondents perceive, and what influence their perceptions of organizational commitment to the temporary work agency, and how the respondents perceive and what influence their perceptions of social support from the temporary work agency. To answer the questions, interviews were conducted with seven employees in a pool of substitutes at a temporary work agency. The results show that affective commitment is a considerable part of the reason why they currently remain in the agency. Some social support is received from the temporary work agency, while other is preferred from the workplaces. A lack of informational support is perceived, regarding information about the routines in each workplace. Furthermore the results show that the contact with the coordinator is essential for organizational commitment as well as for social support. The perception of social support promotes the perception of organizational commitment. The perception of social support is influenced by the length of experience they have from working in the municipal schools and childcare. It also emerges that the view of the function of the employment influences the perception of organizational commitment.

    Abstract [sv]

    Denna uppsats handlar om ungas arbetsmotivation och arbetstillfredsställelse i genomströmningsbranscher såsom callcenter och McDonald’s. Frågorna vi inledningsvis ställde oss är vad som motiverar ungdomar att söka sig till dessa arbetsplatser och vad som motiverar dem att stanna kvar. Tidigare forskning visar på att både callcenter och McDonald’s är typiska ungdomsarbetsplatser med hög personalgenomströmning, där arbetsuppgifterna framställs som begränsade med exakt definierade instruktioner för hur varje arbetsmoment skall utföras och hur lång tid det skall ta. För att få svar på våra frågeställningar har vi genomfört 16 intervjuer, åtta vid callcenter och åtta vid McDonald’s. Vi fann i vår studie att det framförallt är arbetskamraterna som påverkar och motiverar ungdomarna att gå till arbetet. Arbetskamraterna är det viktigaste motivet till trivseln, men även lönen är viktig faktor i arbetet. Ytterligare intressanta aspekter vi fått fram är att intervjupersonerna beskriver sina arbetssituationer som både positiva och negativa och dessutom visar på en stor yrkesstolthet över att arbeta inom dessa branscher. Detta trots att arbetet till största delen består av standardiserade arbetsuppgifter lka utförs under kontrollerade former där kraven på att prestera är relativt höga, vilket överlag anses leda till en stressig arbetsmiljö. Som en bonus i vår undersökning fick vi fram vissa skillnader mellan callcenter och McDonald’s anställda vad gäller ålder och anställningstid. Det intressanta är att de anställda på McDonald’s generellt är yngre trots att de har fler anställningsår än de på callcenter.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to investigate what perceived factors that affects the use of health benefits from an employee perspective. The study was conducted by using a qualitative method with semistructured interviews with a total of eight respondents. The theories that were used are Self-Determination Theory (SDT) and two communication models. The result shows that internal motivation factors for employees utilizing their healthcare benefits are solidarity, good relationships, health and well-being as well as their own will. External motivation factors are weight loss, physical strength and personal goals. The result also reveals factors that prevent employees from utilizing their health benefits, such as lack of clear and adequate information, high workload, structure everyday life and time. The results also show factors that supports employees to utilizing their healthcare benefits. These factors are the support of the immediate supervisor, support from colleagues, but primarily it’s their own support that helps employees to utilizing their healthcare benefits. The result also shows that if there is a dissemination of information and the opportunity for feedback to the immediate supervisor about health benefits, it contributes to a higher degree of utilization.

    Abstract [en]

    This is a study of how the Swedish Armed Forces work with diversity and gender equality. The aim is to find out why women begin their admission process, but then chose not to pursue it. This is a problem that the Swedish Armed Forces have and they are trying to attract more women into the organization. Their goal is to be able to make better decisions from a diverse perspective and thereby achieve high effect.

     

    The data was collected by using semi-structured interviews, both personal and by telephone. First performed was a personal interview with our contact at the Swedish Armed Forces, then a telephone interview with a person who is working on a project to make contact with women who have started their admission process. 14 telephone interviews were performed with women who had begun the application process, but then chose not to pursue it.

     

    The results showed that the Swedish Armed Forces' efforts to promote diversity and gender equality can be linked to previous research and theories on the substances. It also showed that the women who we interviewed, chose not to complete the admission process due to other interests took over, or that something turned out wrong in the first step of the admission process.

    Vår C-uppsats handlar om hur de anställda på Transports avdelning Y upplever sin arbetsplats och hur dem anser att deras arbetsmiljö är och vad dem gör för att få en god arbetsmiljö. Uppsatsen har en inriktning på arbetsgruppens trygghet och trivsel samt vad det är arbetsgruppen gör för att få en bra arbetsmiljö, hur dem upplever sin arbetsmiljö och vilka inställningar och upplevelser av arbetsmiljön har dem på sin arbetsplats? Syftet med uppsatsen är att försöka förstå en arbetsplats arbetsmiljö som i detta fall en specifik avdelning på transportmedarbetar förbundet. Vi syftar till att undersöka hur just denna arbetsplats och arbetsgrupp ska kunna utvecklas för att kunna få en ännu bättre psykosocial arbetsmiljö. Men även för att försöka förstå vad det är som kan göra att de anställd har en bra arbetsmiljö. För att studien skulle få en mer djupgående inriktning i vårt problem valde vi att göra en fallstudie för att kunna analysera gruppens värderingar angående arbetsmiljö. För att samla in det empiriska materialet valde vi att använda oss utav kvalitativ metod samt att göra observationer på arbetsplatsen/arbetsmiljön samt att även göra intervjuer med de anställda. För att kunna analysera vårt empiriska material har vi valt att använda oss utav teorierna; Goffmans intrycksstyrning, Maslows behovstrappa och i Karaseks krav- kontroll och stöd modell. Resultatet vi kom fram till visar på att en arbetsgrupps sociala samspel mellan varandra har en mycket stor betydelse på hur de anställda på Transport upplevde deras arbetsmiljö. Samspelet mellan varandra på avdelningen har mycket med företagets egna värderingar och visioner att göra. Detta kan därmed göra det mycket svårt för dem att släppa garden till att ge och ta feedback och inse att dem själva inte behöver spegla en felfri organisation.

    Abstract [en]

    The aim of this study is to explore how former students are utilizing their knowledge from the university in their professional life. Further, the study examines which factors that could have impact on the students possibility to develop their career and if their satisfaction at work is affected by this development. The study is based on a survey which is a continued work from the previous study Aktörskap, yrkesorientering & bildning in full programme educations which have been completed on the University of Halmstad 2007-2012. Our study revealed that the students to a big extent have use of their achieved knowledge from the university in their professional life, both the theoretical and the practical elements. However, the students perceived the theoretical elements to be somewhat more useful. Students who are currently in a leading position perceived to a somewhat higher extent to have use of their knowledge from the university. Further, we have identified factors that may have impact on the students possibility to career development. Gender proved to be the most distinct factor since it proved to have impact on the likelihood of entering the labour market and in developing their career. Although the respondents had been available on the labour market for an equal amount of time, the likelihood that men were in a leading position was three times larger than for women. Another interesting outcome of this study was that the most important factors regarding satisfaction in the professional life differs markedly between people in leading positions and people that are not in leading positions.

    The theoretical framework that have been used in the analysis are theories  regarding knowledge and employability, signal- and human capital theory and previous research on this topic.

    Factors to consider when implementing patient online access to their electronic health record2017Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Government and public agencies in Sweden have promoted the expansion of eHealth. The strategy behind this effort is to increase quality of care, efficiency, patient empowerment and patient safety, and one of the most important civic eHealth services is patient online access to electronic health records (EHR). By 2017, all of Sweden's inhabitants will be able to access their EHR from somatic care through the Internet and thus read clinical notes. In 2015 Region Skåne was the first county council in Sweden to implement patient online access to their EHR as a civic service, for adult psychiatric care patients. Earlier research shows that initial implementation of the service in somatic care raised both questions and resistance among involved healthcare professionals. Thus, for an implementer, there are many factors to consider and it may be difficult to choose and prioritize among them; on the other hand, there is little knowledge about what healthcare professionals think is important when implementing a civic service in healthcare. The aim of this study is to present and discuss what healthcare professionals think is important to consider when Region Skåne implements patient online access to EHR in psychiatric care.

    The material presented derives from a full-population web survey, distributed to employees in adult psychiatry in Region Skåne just before the introduction of the service. The response rate was 29% (n = 871). In one of the question in the survey, respondents were asked to choose five out of eleven factors that they thought might affect the implementation of the service. Thereafter they were asked to rank these five factors and assign the most important factor five points, the second most important factor four points and so on.

    Overall, the results show that the most frequently chosen factor was Evaluation of patient online access to their EHR, but Patient safety was the factor with the highest total score and also the highest mean value. Furthermore, it is interesting to note that the factor receiving the lowest score was a support line for the employees; this factor has the lowest total score and lowest mean value. The results also show that different professional groups consider different factors to be important in the implementation process.

    The conclusions are firstly; that healthcare professionals care about the implementation of civic services even though the technology does not change towards them. Secondly; that the healthcare professionals consider not only factors that affect their own work to be important but also factors that are related to patient's interests. Thirdly; it is important for implementers to be aware of that civic services can affect the healthcare professionals work even if the service is only aimed at patients. It is thus important to consider factors related to both patients and professionals when implementing a civic eHealth service, even if the service is aimed at only one of these groups.

    Hösten 2015 var Region Skåne först i Sverige med att lägga till patientjournaler från psykiatrin till invånartjänsten eJournal. Genom tjänsten, har alla patienter i den vuxenpsykiatriska vården i Region Skåne tillgång till sin journal via nätet. Det finns lite kunskap om hur professioner na inom den psykiatriska vården förväntar sig att deras arbete kommer att påverkas av den ökade transparens som patienternas tillgång till sin journal via internet innebär. Syftet med detta paper är att undersöka hur socionomer, läkare, psykologer och sjuksköterskor i vuxenpsykiatrin i Region Skåne förväntar sig att patienternas tillgång till eJournal kommer att förändra villkore n för det egna professionella arbetet. Empirin som presenteras härrör från en webbenkät som skickades till samtliga anställda inom vuxenpsykiatrin i Region Skåne strax före införandet av tjänsten. Svarsfrekvensen på enkäten var 29% och fördelningen mellan de olika personalkategorierna överensstämmer väl med andelen anställda i varje personalgrupp. Analysen visar dels att förväntningarna skiljersigmellan de olika professionerna och dels att professionerna förväntar sig att eJournal kommer att påverka deras legitimitet, makten över journalen som arbetsverktyg samt patienternas förtroende för dem.

    Background: This is the second of two papers presenting the results from a study of the implementation of patient online access to their electronic health records (here referred to as Open Notes) in adult psychiatric care in Sweden. The study contributes an important understanding of both the expectations and concerns that existed among health care professionals before the introduction of the Open Notes Service in psychiatry and the perceived impact of the technology on their own work and patient behavior after the implementation. The results from the previously published baseline survey showed that psychiatric health care professionals generally thought that Open Notes would influence both the patients and their own practice negatively.

    Objective: The objective of this study was to describe and discuss how health care professionals in adult psychiatric care in Region Skåne in southern Sweden experienced the influence of Open Notes on their patients and their own practice, and to compare the results with those of the baseline study.

    Methods: We distributed a full population Web-based questionnaire to psychiatric care professionals in Region Skåne in the spring of 2017, which was one and a half years after the implementation of the service. The response rate was 27.73% (699/2521). Analyses showed that the respondents were representative of the staff as a whole. A statistical analysis examined the relationships between health professional groups and attitudes to the Open Notes Service.

    Results: A total of 41.5% (285/687) of the health care professionals reported that none of their patients stated that they had read their Open Notes. Few health care professionals agreed with the statements about the potential benefits for patients from Open Notes. Slightly more of the health care professionals agreed with the statements about the potential risks. In addition, the results indicate that there was little impact on practice in terms of longer appointments or health care professionals having to address patients' questions outside of appointments. However, the results also indicate that changes had taken place in clinical documentation. Psychologists (39/63, 62%) and doctors (36/94, 38%) in particular stated that they were less candid in their documentation after the implementation of Open Notes. Nearly 40% of the health care professionals (239/650, 36.8%) reported that the Open Notes Service in psychiatry was a good idea.

    Conclusions: Most health care professionals who responded to the postimplementation survey did not experience that patients in adult psychiatric care had become more involved in their care after the implementation of Open Notes. The results also indicate that the clinical documentation had changed after the implementation of Open Notes. Finally, the results indicate that it is important to prepare health care professionals before an implementation of Open Notes, especially in medical areas where the service is considered sensitive. ©Lena Petersson, Gudbjörg Erlingsdóttir.     världen. Syftet med studien var att skapa en kunskap för anställda inom organisation X:s

    upplevelse av organisationsklimatets kreativa aspekter. Vidare studerades hur de anställdas

    upplevelse förhöll sig till tidigare referensvärden för innovativa respektive stagnerade

    organisationer, samt i förhållande till organisationens uttalade strategi för kreativitet och

    innovation. Betydelsen av ett kreativt organisationsklimat ligger till grunden för

    organisationers förmåga att lyfta innovativa idéer. Studien visar att medarbetarnas upplevelse

    av organisationens kreativa organisationsklimat inte uppnår Ekvalls referensvärden för en

    innovativ organisation, resultatet ställs vidare i relation till organisation X:s strategi gällande

    innovation.

    Slutligen ges förslag på områden att uppmärksamma samt förslag till åtgärder.

    Why are some individuals more successful in recognizing and exploiting new venture opportunities than others? The common view is that successful entrepreneurs have acquired and developed specific types of knowledge through their previous career experiences, which in turn facilitate their involvement in the entrepreneurial process from opportunity recognition to opportunity exploitation. If this is true, how can we understand the learning mechanisms that underlie this experiential learning process? The overall purpose of this dissertation is to develop concepts that enhances our understanding of entrepreneurship as an experiential learning process, and based on this development to empirically test a conceptual framework that explains how individuals develop entrepreneurial knowledge through experiences acquired in their careers. To meet the overall purpose five individual studies have been conducted. The empirical data consists of both personal interviews as well as a large-scale mail questionnaire on Swedish entrepreneurs. The overall findings imply that entrepreneurship should be conceived as a lifelong learning process that proceeds both before and after the initial start-up of a new venture. This means that the sequences of events whereby individuals enter an entrepreneurial career and learn how to recognize and exploit new ventures opportunities needs to be understood in the light of individuals? career experiences as a whole. Entrepreneurial learning is consequently not something that only occurs in typical entrepreneurial settings but also in the everyday working life of individuals well before they even think of being involved in new venture creation. Moreover, the overall findings suggest the need to reconsider the predominant view on entrepreneurial learning which presumes a direct link between a particular experience and the knowledge gained from this experience. The empirical results show that different types of career experiences lead to different types of entrepreneurial knowledge, and that the knowledge developed also depends on the entrepreneurs? preferred mode of transforming experience to knowledge, i.e. whether they prefer putting their emphasis on exploring new possibilities or exploiting their pre-existent knowledge. Consequently, there is a need to distinguish between the two concepts "experience" and "knowledge" if we are to understand entrepreneurship as an experiential learning process.

    Syftet med denna studie var att öka kunskapen om vilka faktorer som möjliggör respektive hindrar anställdas nyttjande av arbetsplatsens friskvårdsinsatser. Vi undersökte även vad det är som motiverar anställda till att nyttja friskvårdsinsatserna utifrån yrkeskategorierna tjänstemän och arbetare. Metoden som användes var kvantitativ och verktyget som valdes för att samla in det empiriska materialet var enkäter. Enkätundersökningen utfördes på en större organisation som verkar inom detaljhandeln och enkäten besvarades av 94 anställda. Därefter analyserades svaren med hjälp av programmet SPSS, valda teorier och tidigare forskning inom undersökningsområdet.

    Resultatet visade att de allra flesta av de anställda som deltog i studien har någon form av motivation till att nyttja friskvårdsinsatserna på arbetsplatsen. Vilka faktorer som motiverar de anställda till att nyttja friskvårdsinsatserna visade sig vara både yttre och inre motivationsfaktorer. Resultatet visade därtill att det allt som oftast var fler tjänstemän än arbetare som instämde till att dem motiverades av de olika faktorerna. Detta överensstämde med resultatet kring nyttjandet, då även där visade sig vara fler tjänstemän än arbetare som faktiskt nyttjade friskvårdsinsatserna. De anställdas svar tydde på att det både fanns organisatoriska faktorer liksom privata faktorer som hindrade deras nyttjade.

    Två faktorer som flera respondenter ansåg skulle möjliggöra ett ökat nyttjande var att införa ett friskvårdsbidrag samt att fortsätta erbjuda möjligheten till att träna på arbetstid.

    Försvarsmakten vill öka andelen kvinnliga officerare på chefspositioner. Trots den politiska styrningen, egna styrdokument och aktiva åtgärder, tar det lång tid att öka andelen kvinnliga officerare och i synnerhet på chefsbefattningar. Syftet med studien är att beskriva och förstå vad som gör att individerna tar ett beslut om fortsatt karriär. Denna förståelse för beslut i karriären kan i framtiden leda till verktyg eller rekommendationer för chefer inom Försvarsmakten. Denna kvalitativa studie är baserad på intervjuer med kvinnliga officerare vid Skaraborgs regemente och Trängregementet som sedan analyserats med Grounded Theory som metod.Studiens resultat påvisar att genom kärnkategorin Beslutsfullbordande tas beslut om nästa karriärsteg. Stödjande vägledning är ett av de viktigaste verktygen för arbetsgivaren att påverka ett beslut om karriär. När medarbetaren ska ta ett beslut om kommande karriärsteg bör arbetsgivaren stödja medarbetaren med konkreta förslag. Arbetsgivaren bör skapa sig en medvetenhet om spänningarna mellan arbetssituationen och familjesituationen samt om möjligt minska dessa genom att till exempel skapa en mer flexibel arbetssituation under vissa perioder.

    Activity-based working has been on the rise for some years and has become a big trend both in Sweden and the rest of the world. It is a controversial concept that has both received praise and criticism. The aim of the study is to investigate how employees in the academia experience working in an activity-based office with a focus on psychosocial work environment and social relations, and whether there is a connection between the individual's tasks and their experience. A qualitative study has been conducted at a university/college in Sweden, a total of six semistructured interviews have been held. Respondents' perception of their experiences of the activity-based working varied, but the most respondents were negative. The main factors that were lifted were the sound level and the transparency, the respondents used different coping strategies to overcome the problems. The result shows that the social relations in the workplace have both been strengthened and deteriorated. The respondents' tasks were highlighted as problematic within an activity-based office. Based on the study's results, the most negative factor for the respondents' psychosocial work environment and the experience of the activitybased working were the factors that were outside the individual's control,where successful coping strategies were not applicable.

    Organizing Senior Employees Occupational Health Resource Management Service in Innovation and Entrepreneurial Context2016Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Changing the determinants of health also requires modifying aspects of the settings that has not been done sufficiently in occupational health service. The European Network for workplace health recommended a holistic approach in workplace health promotion including programs concerning individual’s lifestyle and safety management as well as psychosocial and organizational work factors. To this end, we utilize a decision making model that captures the key components of explain how the aging issues pertaining to healthcare employees employ their perception, information, and judgment on decision choices. We collected 116 questionnaire responses from affiliated to the occupational health care center in Sweden. We found that employees’ perception of health care challenges and staffing had a significant impact on their decision choices regarding whether to request, stimulate and collaborate on activities. Finally, our results indicated that aging options related to healthcare issues to request, stimulate and collaborate on activities influence employees’ decision choices.

    I dagens samhälle förändras omgivningen för organisationer allt snabbare vilket tvingar organisationer att ständigt anpassa sig efter snabbt föränderliga villkor. Trots det så misslyckas över hälften av alla förändringar att nå ett önskat resultat. Kommunikationen i organisationsförändringar är fortfarande ett relativt outforskat område trots att det är en bevisat viktig faktor vid förändringar. Vårt syfte är att undersöka kommunikationens roll vid organisationsförändringar och på vilket sätt faktorer inom kommunikation har påverkat resultatet av en förändring. Vi har utfört en kvalitativ studie i en organisation, där vi har intervjuat åtta deltagare på olika hierarkiska nivåer i organisationen, samt utfört två deltagande observationer i arbetet. Materialet har analyserats enligt vår analysmodell utifrån vår kategorisering och tolkning. Våra resultat tyder på att kommunikationen har en viktig roll i organisationsförändringar. Möjlighet till delaktighet och dialog har ofta en central betydelse för vilket meningsskapande individen gör av ett förändringsinitiativ, och påverkar andra viktiga faktorer som förtroende, oro och informationsspridning.

    Den här fallstudien syftar till öka kunskapen om hur Stena Line kan förbättra service genom lärandet från en e-learning utbildning samt om personalen har ett behov av uppföljning, och i så fall hur den ska utformas. Vi ville även öka vår kunskap om hur Stena Line kan förändra de anställdas beteenden med hjälp av e-learning och vilka förutsättningar som krävs för att personalen ska bli motiverade till att förändra sitt beteende.

    Fallstudien har genomförts genom metodkombination. Tillvägagångssättet har varit att inledningsvis dela ut en enkät, kvantitativ metod, för att skapa oss en uppfattning om arbetsplatsen. Därefter genomfördes semistrukturerade person-, och gruppintervjuer med ett strategiskt urval, kvalitativ metod, med en intervjuguide som utformats med hänsyn tagen till enkätens resultat. Det kvalitativa tillvägagångssättet har varit vår huvudsakliga metod.

    Vi har kommit fram till att hur utbildningen presenteras är viktigt för hur den mottas hos anställda, vilket i sin tur påverkar resultatet av utbildningen. Ur de anställdas perspektiv spelar cheferna en stor roll i hur de motiveras till att förändra sitt beteende.

    Efter genomförd utbildning uttrycker de anställda en önskan om uppföljning antingen via test på datorn eller genom diskussion med kollegor och chefer.

    The Swedish welfare society should ensure everyone in Sweden a fundamental welfare. Our welfare system to capture the Swedish citizens requires the authorities to communicate with each other. Lacks in communication between authorities have emerged in, among other things, the media. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to increase understanding of the difference in communication between the authorities in the regular context and the context of the individual collaborative team in Halland. How do different factors in contexts affect the communication between authorities? What distinguishes the communication in the context of the individual collaborative context with regular contexts? We have chosen to use a deductive approach during the study. The methods we used to get our empirical work consists of qualitative interviews with two individual collaborators in Halland. We then analyzed the empirical material we got with a content analysis using a theory. The result shows that the difference between different government configurations can affect the communication. What our communication distinguishes in different contexts, according to our study, has been found to be that the message in ordinary cases takes longer to reach the recipient and risks becoming more misinterpreted.

    Syftet med studien är att se hur det kreativa arbetsklimatet ser ut på två avdelningar inom en offentlig sektor och jämföra dessa samt se om det finns något samband med ett utvecklande ledarskap. Vi använde oss av en metodkombination för vår undersökning och inledde med att genomföra en kvantitativ datainsamling med hjälp av en enkät och därefter genomföra en kvalitativ datainsamling i form av fyra intervjuer där vi intervjuade både chefer och medarbetare för att se frågan från båda perspektiven. Vi kan utifrån resultaten av vår studie se att det kreativa klimatet är bättre på den avdelningen där det finns ett utvecklande ledarskap men att det också finns andra organisatoriska faktorer som påverkar detta.

    Den här uppsatsen behandlar ett förändringsarbete på en vårdenhet inom Region Halland. Utgångspunkt för undersökningen har varit att följa upp förändringsarbetet, som innebar att Kvälls- och helgmottagningens och Nyhems vårdcentral numera delar samma arbetslokaler. Vi har använt oss av följande begrepp: förändringsarbete, delaktighet, kommunikation och motstånd, som utgångspunkt. Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie, där medarbetare från respektive enhet har intervjuats.

    Syftet med studien är att belysa och få ökad förståelse samt kunskap för hur medarbetarna vid de båda enheterna har reagerat och påverkats av förändringen.

     På vilket sätt har Nyhems vårdcentral/Kväll- och helgmottagningen arbetat med förändringsarbetet?

     Hur har medarbetarna kunnat påverka och vara delaktiga i förändringsarbetet?

     Hur har kommunikationen upplevts av medarbetarna vid förändringsarbetet?

     Hur har medarbetarna reagerat på förändringen?

    Då förändringen grundade sig på ett politiskt beslut har personalen inte kunnat påverka detta. I början bidrog förändringen inte till någon delaktighet. Idag anser personalen vid de båda enheter att de är delaktiga i det dagliga arbetet. Personalen upplevde även att det var mer information än kommunikation vid förändringen. Förändringen upplevdes som onödig och negativ i början, men idag har den börjat etablera sig och fungerar bra.

    We approached a multinational manufacturing company that wants to reduce its employee turnover among white collars workers. Thailand's current labour shortage requires an ability to retain employees and a quantitative survey is conducted to measure the perceived job satisfaction. Job Satisfaction is a key component in strive for employee retention. The study identifies and analyzes organizational reasons that contribute to job satisfaction and that can contribute to increased employee retention. By investigating perceived job satisfaction amongst white collar worker, aims the study to find factors that are central to employee retention and how the most central factors can be strengthen and developed by the organization. The study creates an understanding of the benefits of employee retention strategies and the results may support the organization in the development of these. The conclusion is that organizational effort within work design, leadership, social support; development, compensation & benefits, and work-life balance are essential for employee retention. The study indicates that employees‘ annual development, competitiveness within compensation & benefits and a leader that lives up to the employee's expectations have an influence on the perceived job satisfaction. A continuous effort to increase job satisfaction reduces employee desire of movement. The pros of staying and the risks of leaving the organization increases and the result is an increased opportunity for employee retention

    Under hösten 2013 genomförde vi en tidsstudie bland enhetschefer i en kommunal organisation. Resultatet visade bland annat att enhetscheferna spenderade mycket tid på att utföra administrativa arbetsuppgifter, som främst rörde personaladministration och dokumentation av sina verksamheter. Enhetscheferna ansåg själva att den här typen av arbetsuppgifter ökat eller förändrats markant de senaste åren. En konsekvens som framhölls var att det nära ledarskapet hamnade i skymundan. Forskning på enhetschefer samt administration styrker upplevelsen som framkom i tidsstudien.

     

    Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka faktorer som kan påverka en enhetschefs administrativa arbetsuppgifter. Våra frågeställningar berör 1) vanliga administrativa arbetsuppgifter, 2) en sammanhållen administrativ enhets betydelse samt 3) organisatoriska påverkans faktorer.

    Undersökningen genomfördes kvalitativt, med semistrukturerade intervjuer, samt två förintervjuer via telefon och e-post.

    Resultatet visade att de ökade kraven på dokumentation och granskning påverkar mängden administrativa arbetsuppgifter. Samtidigt som antalet IT-system som man dokumenterar i påverkar hur enhetschefen utför sina administrativa arbetsuppgifter. Underlättande faktorer som framkommer är, en sammanhållen administrativ enhet och stödfunktioner i de egna verksamheterna.

    Arbetstagare tillhörande Generation Y tillskrivs ofta olika typer av egenskaper och beteenden, både i media och av forskare inom området. De sägs vara egoistiska, kravställare, frågvisa, individualister och illojala. Syftet med den här studien är att belysa det som driver arbetstagare tillhörande Generation Y att göra ett bra jobb, samt hur cheferna arbetar för att få de unga arbetstagarna att göra ett bra jobb.

    Studien bygger på sexton semistrukturerade intervjuer och det är därför en helt kvalitativ studie. Författarnas förhoppning var att respondenterna genom intervjuerna skulle kunna reflektera, argumentera och resonera fritt kring de olika frågeställningarna och där resultatet av det kunde bidra till att skapa ny kunskap och förståelse kring det undersökta området.

    Resultatet i studien visar på att unga arbetstagare tillhörande Generation Y drivs av ett antal olika faktorer för att göra ett bra jobb. För att de skulle kunna göra ett bra jobb, blev det i resultatet tydligt att de hade höga förväntningar på sin chef och arbetsgivare. Resultatet tyder även på hur cheferna arbetar för att få de unga arbetstagarna till att göra ett bra jobb. Därefter diskuterar författarna om huruvida arbetstagarnas och chefernas uppfattning stämmer överens med varandra samt de bakomliggande orsakerna till dessa uppfattningar.

    This present study aims to within a public sector investigate a public management’s general experiences and opinions about collaboration and communication that occurs between them and the employer unit. We have chosen to study with a qualitative approach to obtain empirical data by conducting interviews using eight respondents broken down by different public managements within the organization.Through our interviews four questions were answered. Firstly experiences regarding views and opinions on the collaboration between the public managements and the employer unit. Secondly from the public managements point of view, the views and opinions that the public management might have on the communication that occurs between them and the employer unit. Thirdly the positive and negative factors experienced by the public management regarding collaboration and communication between them and the employer unit. Fourthly what factors affect the public management’s needs regarding collaboration and communication towards the employer unit.Our results demonstrate that communication is a major part of the work that involves the need of collaboration. The public management’s opinion is that it is important to have a dialogue about the decisions taken within the organization to feel involved and gain an insight into the organization. It’s also important for the public managements to have a good dialogue with the employer unit because the employer unit in many cases has the excellence of specific knowledge. This study shows that the public managements generally don’t look at the requirement of collaborating and communication with the employer unit as an obstacle. Why that is might be because of the organization has good structural conditions, which seems to have a good formula if you look to the interview responses.

    Studiens syfte var att undersöka organisationers svårigheter i tillvägagångssättet vid utförande av kompetenskartläggning. Studien ville svara på vad det är som gör att en kompetenskartläggning kan leda till ett bristande resultat. För att hjälpa oss att besvara syftet skapades två forskningsfrågor: “Vilka svårigheter finns att kartlägga kompetensbehov på organisationsnivå?” och “vad kan svårigheterna leda till?”

    Metoden som användes var en kvalitativ analys där fyra semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes. I studien deltog två ledare, HR-chef och Operativ chef samt två anställda varav en är fackligt förtroendevald. Resultatet analyserades med hjälp av teorier och tidigare forskning om kompetens, kompetenskartläggning, ontologiskt perspektiv på kompetens och svårigheter med att skapa en reliabel självbild.

    Resultatet bekräftar teorierna att det är en väldigt komplex process att genomföra kompetenskartläggning. De största svårigheterna med kompetenskartläggning som framkommit i vår fallstudie är; förankringen i hela organisationen, svårigheter med att definiera begreppen, utmaningen i att mäta personliga egenskaper och implicit kunskap, reliabiliteten i självskattningen samt den bristande användningen av kompetenskartläggningen som görs.

    The increasing digitalisation of the labour market resulting in a flexibility among employees become a fact. Work can be executed anywhere at any time which sets higher demands on the employees since there is an increase in accessibility. The boundaries between work and personal life disintegrates and obtaining a healthy balance between the spheres gets more difficult to obtain. This study aims to examine how municipal employees in Human Resources perceive the use of work mail during and outside of work hours. The formulates questions regards how employees experience mail as a work instrument, the psychosocial effects work mail bring the employees as well as how they experience the demarcation between work and personal life.

    The study relies on the demand-control model as well as the borderless work. In order to answer the purpose of the study and the formulated questions, qualitative interviews have been carried out with five participants from the municipal HR-department. The results were subsequently interpreted and analysed by a hermeneutic approach. It appeared that the employees experience their mail as a limiting element in their workday due to the occurrence of the inadequate information provided in assignments and various errands. The employees unanimously state that a cluttered inbox generate in a loss of control and result in an increased level of stress, present expectations of accessibility and feedback can be experienced as paralysing. There are different opinions about whether the boundary between work and private time should be applied. Some employees see it as an advantage to let the spheres encroach on each other as it leads to an increased sense of self-control by enabling correspondence on the private time while others consider that an unclear separation of the spheres strictly entails negative consequences for their own health.

    The purpose of this study is to examine how the Swedish fire brigade disseminates knowledge from experiences, obtained from emergencies and practice, and the structural factors that affect this distribution. Structural factors referred to in this study are for example hierarchies, department boundaries, strategies for knowledge transfer and reward systems. The study's empirical data were collected through semi-structured interviews and is thus a qualitative study. The studies population consists of seven employees in various positions identified as key positions for knowledge dissemination. The study is based on various Knowledge management strategies and Communities of practice to explain the creation and dissemination of organizational knowledge. The result demonstrates that there are various methods of dissemination of knowledge consisting of a deviation system, effort reporting system and Communities of practice in work teams. Data show that the efficiency of dissemination varies and that there are both hindering and facilitating factors affecting the efficiency. The study shows that knowledge is disseminated most effectively within teams and that the deviation systems clear infrastructure works better than the effort reporting system, due to it’s lack of structure and unwieldy amount of information.

    The purpose of thisstudy is to increase the understanding of operators'opportunities, barriers and motivations for learning in a lean organized organization.Toexamine this, we have broken down the object into the following questions: (1)What are the opportunities, barriers and incentives tolearning from the perspective of work design and autonomy? (2) What are theopportunities, barriers and incentives to learning fromthe perspective of management support? (3) What are the opportunities, barriersand incentives to learning from the viewpoint ofinteraction and teams? (4) What are the opportunities, barriers and incentives to learning from the perspective of competence? In thisstudy we have used the qualitative method with chiefly interviews withsupervisors, team leader coordinators, team leaders and operators. The resultsrevealed that operator work in many areas has a high degree of standardization,which on the one hand teaches individuals to mastercertain data, but is also an obstacle to moredevelopment-oriented learning. At the same time factors appeared which may alsoenable preparating to work towards more development-orientedlearning. It offers possibilities to come up withideas and observations and solve problems, which also contributes tothe interaction. Even teamwork is perceived as instructive as operators learnfrom each other.

    Försvarsmakten står idag inför en stor utmaning att täcka sitt personalbehov. I och med övergången från pliktbaserat till frivilligbaserat försvar, konkurrerar de om arbetskraften och det blir allt svårare att rekrytera nödvändig personal. De som påbörjar utbildningar som är tänkta att leda till fast anställning, slutar i hög grad innan utbildningen genomförts. Avsikten med vår undersökning är att belysa försvarsmaktens rekrytering och personalförsörjningssystem samt bidra med förbättringsförslag av deras rekryteringsprocess.

    En metodkombination har genomförts i form av intervjuer, tre observationer samt litteraturstudie. Elva intervjuer med representanter från arbetsgivar- respektive arbetstagarsidan inom Försvarsmakten. Observationerna bestod av ett besök på informationscenter, medverkan på ett seminarium samt ett event med informatörer på en gymnasieskola.

    Resultatet visade på stor okunskap i målgruppen om vad en anställning inom Försvarsmakten innebär. Dels på grund av dåliga förkunskaper bland de sökande och dels på grund av att Försvarsmakten inte, redan i inledningsfasen informerar tillräckligt. Många som påbörjar en utbildning genomför den inte, vilket är till nackdel för Försvarsmakten. För att få genuint intresserade personer att söka, anser vi att man bör satsa på mer information redan i förstadiet till ansökningarna.

    Youth unemployment in relation to overall unemployment is high and is one of the Swedish government´s priorities in labour market policy. The purpose of this study is to investigate what idea the municipal employers have of unemployed youths ́ employability. The purpose is embodied by three questions, designed to see what importance of participation in active labour market programs, upper secondary school diploma and personality have on employability. The study is based on a qualitative research approach and answers the purpose with eight municipal employers' perceptions of unemployed young people's employability. The result indicates that employability, according to the municipal employers, is the importance of experience, skills and education. The results also indicate that the internship in a municipal labour market program, which aims to provide work experience, cannot be equated with each other. Participation in a municipal labor market program could reduce employability, as well as the lack of an upper secondary school diploma reduces the chance of an employment. The personality of an individual that is considered crucial for employment does not meet the requirements of the essential employability.

    Studiens syfte är att undersöka chefers och medarbetares uppfattning om svåra samtal utifrån ett maktperspektiv. Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ forskningsansats där empirin erhållits genom intervjuer. Studien har totalt nio respondenter, varav tre stycken chefer, fem stycken medarbetare och en person från Företagshälsovården. Studien fokuserar på hur svåra samtal kan påverkas av den maktrelation som finns mellan en chef och en medarbetare och på så vis hur makt kan inverka på parternas beteenden. De svåra samtal som vi fokuserat på i studien är när chefen lämnar ett besked till medarbetaren som kan uppfattas som negativt såsom upplysning om misskötsamhet, aningar om missbruk och/eller uppsägning. I studien har vi funnit att makt påverkar främst chefers agerande genom deras kroppsspråk. Vi ser dock att organisationen har en stor betydelse för chefers agerande då chefer är av uppfattningen att de har organisationen att luta sig mot vid svåra samtal. Vi drar vidare slutsatsen att det är organisationen som har den övergripande makten och att personen som är chef “får” makt genom att iklä sig en maktkostym. Vi har kunnat urskilja att medarbetarna har desto mindre makt i samtalssituationen då de främst påverkas av chefens makt, men att medarbetarna i efterhand har en form av makt då de kan utföra hämndattraktioner för att försvåra för chefens arbetsledning. Förutom maktrelationen har vi även kunnat belysa andra faktorer som kan påverka svåra samtal.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to gain insight about recruiters perceptions of the relationship between compatibility of individual and the organization (P-O fit) compared to the compatibility of individual and job assignments (P-J fit). To answer the purpose six interviews were conducted including recruiters from different companies. These interviews were later summarized using methods that shorten the answers, categorized by interesting themes and finally presented in a way that connects them with the literature. The results of the study show that P-O fit had a greater impact on the final decision of the recruitment process than P-J fit when it comes to employments with low qualifications. When the employments qualifications are higher both concepts were equally important but they were assessed together on the basis of minimum requirements for the work tasks versus how good fit would be between the individual and the groups in the organization and the organization itself. To determine the fit between the individual and the organization the applicants were assessed based on the organizational core values or if no core values were present the organizational culture. This leads to an implicit evaluation of how the individual would fit into the organization and its culture.
