    Abstract

This report refers to a degree at bachelor level and has been implemented at the University of Halmstad. The project has proceeded during autumn 2015 and spring 2016. It includes design and product development. The project was conducted in collaboration with the company HMS Industrial Networks AB.

The goal of the project was to replace the assembly of one of the company's well-established products. A list of requirements for the current product was given as a guide for the new solution, with emphasis on strength and material. For preparation of the solution, the project model Dynamic product development is used with the guidance of the integrated product. The project has a tight timetable, which has required disciplined work.

This outcome is a solution for mounting Anybus CompactCom with methodology of DFMA. It will contribute to ease of use by reducing the number of parts for assembly and eliminate the use of assembly tools. The company wishes for a product that is easy to understand with a proper material. To visualize the developed concepts and analyze this, the software Catia V5 has been used.

The result is a concept that is presented in the form of a business plan, models performed in CAD and a plan of document for the implementation of the product.
