Abstract [en]

This study explores the strategic positioning in the global wind energy industry, and starts by presenting information regarding the general situation of wind energy industry globally, and takes into account global supply and demand of wind energy industry. In the next step the economics of wind energy and turbines are explored to comprehend the costs of wind energy and turbines for the investors. This economic exploration was made to present general information regarding the industry and the importance of costs for an investor in the global wind energy industry. In the third step, three main players of wind turbine industry were chosen to explore which strategies they followed to get the strategic position in wind energy industry. In the last but the most important step, the strategy differences between these three companies were compared to explore why their market shares decreased in a rapidly growing wind energy industry.
