Abstract [sv]

Studiens syfte var att undersöka eventuella skillnader mellan arbetslösa och arbetande gällande stress, coping och psykologiskt välbefinnande. Vidare syfte var att undersöka eventuella samband mellan val av copingstrategi och psykologiskt välbefinnande hos arbetslösa. 44 av deltagarna var arbetslösa och antal arbetande var 33. Ett tillgänglighetsurval utfördes. Samtliga deltagare fyllde i frågeformulär gällande stress, coping och psykologiskt välbefinnande. Resultatet visade att arbetslösa upplevde högre stress än arbetande samt har sämre psykologiskt välbefinnande än arbetande. Det fanns inga signifikanta skillnader mellan arbetande och arbetslösa gällande coping. Få resultat gällande samband mellan coping och psykologiskt välbefinnande var signifikanta. Dock pekar resultaten på att arbetslösa upplever mer stress och ett sämre psykologiskt välbefinnande än människor som har ett arbete.   

 

Abstract [en]

The aim of the study was to investigate possibly differences between unemployed and employees in stress, coping and psychological well-being. Furthermore the aim of the study was to investigate possibly korrelations between unemploed choice of coping strategy and psychological well-being. 44 of the participants were unemployed the number of employed were 33. A convenient election was made. All participants answered questionnaires about stress, coping and psychological well-being. The result showed that unemployed percieved more stress than employed and they experience worse psychological well-being than employed. There were no significant differences between employed and unemployed in coping. Few results were significant in correlations between coping and psychological well-being. However, the results suggest that unemployed experience a high amount of stress and they experience worse psychological well-being than employed.
