Arbetsrotation: nutidens sätt att effektivisera medarbetarna
Halmstad University, School of Social and Health Sciences (HOS).
2006 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [sv]
Work rotation in independent groups is becoming more common in companies. The purpose of this essay aims to seek deeper knowledge of resistance against work rotation. To find out reasons for resistance against rotation this investigation took place in a mass productive industry. With deep interviews the employees express their experience and observations in a mass productive unit. These interviews together with a quality method are a steady ground for this examination. The analythic of organization Morgan G, sociologists Hage & Powers and Ritzer´s McDonaldization are the theories behind that part of this work. The result shows that it is possible for an employer to place an employee wherever they are most needed in a working process. Work rotation means that more employees can do several moments in a working process and that they can easily be switched out by the employer. By that an employer always has a replacement available to fill in where it is needed. Independent groups are also a way to get employees to feel more responsibility for the companys profit and efficiency. Independent groups also lower the solidarity values among employees by having them pushing each other to achieve higher targets, set by the employer, for the group.
