Abstract [sv]

Physical education and its teachers have got a wider and greater task to fulfill in today's school. The human race in the western world seem to have an enormous need of health education, according to statitics showing an increase in health problems among working people as well as students and younger people. The importance of physical as well as mental health to be able to do well in sports as in school is well known to society today.Therefore the focus of education maybe should be on helath as a subject. But are pupils in need af that kind of education? Are they familiar with health as a subject att all or do they even know enough of it already? What does health mean to them? A survey carried out by questionnaries was made and we came to the conclusion that syllabues are not followed and therefore a lot of students have sufficient knowledge of helath education.
