Abstract [sv]

The aim with this thesis was to analyse how women in the building trade perceive their situation. A research was done among former female students at the Construction Engineering Programme at the University of Halmstad. To acquire the different opinions 56 questionnaires were sent out to the former students. To get a deeper understanding, five women were selected to participate in telephone interviews. The result of the research shows that most women are still working within the building trade and the majority of them like their job and have no problem with the fact that women are in a minority.
