Abstract [sv]
Abstract Human Rights and their fulfilling around the world have been during discussion for several years. The right to be a free and living person with opportunities to do what you want are rights which are seen as natural in Western countries. The question this essay tries to answer is more of a domestic and individual level, where the right for a person to leave his own country and look for protection etc in a new country are in focus. The essay brings out the central part in Swedish immigration policy and tries to compare its fulfilling with the declarations of the Geneva Convention from 1951. The created ideal model is looking for unification between international and domestic laws. Another purpose with this essay is to reveal how well the domestic immigrations policy is related to the opinions of the citizens of Sweden. To get information about these values several questions about Human Rights and remaining domestic immigrations policy were asked to answer for the chosen citizens. The result of this question is that the domestic immigrations policy is generally fulfilling the articles of the Geneva Convention. And the attitudes among the citizens are also quite well comparable with the immigrations policies. Though a tendency of being a little bit more negative when it comes to implementation in the own countries has been noticed.
