Abstract [sv]
The principal of this project has been Stacke Hydraulik AB. The company is one of the leading producers of hydraulic cylinders on the Swedish market. Hydraulic machines are often in need of information regarding the linear position of the piston. The present methods for measuring are expensive and demands a great deal of work during the installation of the transducer. By using an optic transducer that is placed outside the cylinder we have decreased these costs. The project consist of two major phases: The first phase was to do an extensive research of technologies which are used for determine the distance at hydraulic applications. The second phase was to construct a concept which can be used to solve the problem. The project resulted in one transduser manual and our own solution of the problem.
