Abstract [en]
The main topic for the thesis has been the leadership in an industry. The problem areas we worked on were how a firm reaches a leadership position in an industry and how it maintains it. The Comparative Advantage Strategies of Porter (1985) have been used as our main theoretical framework for this study. Concerning our empirical data, we conducted a survey of the fast food industry. We conducted 100 questionnaires in four european countries in order to collect the data we needed for the analysis. In this latter part, we cleraly underlined the main role of the differentiation strategy as the most effective one to reach and maintain leadership in an industry.
