Abstract [sv]
The purpose of this examination project was to design an embedded communication system. The system we have developed is to be used as a laboration platform within research and education. The platform uses different techniques of communication. The embedded system is controlled by an ARM7-processor, which is placed at an insert-card. In the beginning of the project different techniques of communication, fit for use for embedded systems were examined. The chosen techniques for the system were: Ethernet, because of its large areas of applications, Bluetooth, because of the wireless technique and the traditional serial-communication by RS232. For the network-part on the new card, all Ethernet protocols were written from scratch. Software was also written, which made it possible to implement a dynamic website in the system. Due to this function you can control the platform and show real-time values at a homepage. For the Bluetooth-part a circuit was used, that made it possible to transmit both data and audio wireless between several platforms. Software was also written for this technique. A circuit schematics of the circuit board was first designed and then the communication card was routed. The routing scheme was sent away for manufacturing, resulting in five cards. After receiving the PCB, all the components were soldered into place and the embedded communication card was finished.
