Abstract [sv]
Earlier studies have concluded that exercise has a positive influence on mental health. However, rather few studies have been done about the connection between exercise and stress. This has inspired us to do this study. The purpose of the study was to find out if there is any connection between psychical activity and stress. The method that was used was quantitative. 141 students participated by answering a questionnaire about exercise habits and stress. A convenience sample was used. The result revealed that there was a connection between exercise and stress. The participants that were physical active experienced a better mental health than those who were inactive. The result also revealed that men exercise more than women. The result supports the previous finding that physical activity not only is good for the physical health but also can affect the level of stress.
