Abstract [sv]
“The Networking Start-up Company” is a paper in which the writers want to form an image of the networking in start-up companies. The paper is based on a qualitative study, in which five companies participate, that all have their origin in Halmstad University’s business incubator. The result of the study is a theory on how companies develop their networking. The writers present four different phases of networking that a company experiences in its development. Each phase has specific characteristics and can be identified in the qualitative study which is the foundation of the theory. The theory is also based on earlier research on network competence and a company’s development from a life cycle perspective. The study is the groundwork of the theory and it is left for further research to prove or discard it. Furthermore, five items about networking are introduced, that are recommendations for a start-up company to consider.
