Abstract [sv]
The purpose of the project is to develop a versioning file system to be used in conjunction with an ARM7-processor. Before the development started an extensive literature study was conducted. The studies were focused towards mainly accepted methods of implementing these kinds of file systems. The demands were sorted depending on priority regarding basic functionality and support for versioning was given a high priority. The final solution was implemented using the development tool IAR Systems – Embedded workbench for ARM and the language used was C. The implementation has been done by using basic techniques from well known systems as well as our own solutions. Everything was implemented from scratch and was fitted to the available environment. The result is a working file system with support for versioning. The versioning is implemented in such a way that the available memory resources are utilized well. The entire file system is based on functions that make out a user friendly programming interface. A command interpreter is implemented, whose task is to act as an interface between the user and the hardware. The interface is run in a hyperterminal environment that utilizes serial communication over a UART.
