Abstract [sv]

This is a 10 points thesis in the Information and Communication technology programme. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the user interface of Intersolia’s chemistry webb application Ichemistry. With Ichemistry all information about chemicals that are in use in a company is, available for everyone. The user can access information like safety sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets, internal rules and decisions in the network. There is also an administration part where the administrator can do such things as inventory and risk analysis of the products used in the company. To analyse the interface we used two kinds of methods: - A usertest method called Question-asking protocol - Heuristic evaluation After the analysis of the user interface we found out that there is some space for improvements in the system to help the user navigate through the system in a more effective way. The analysis resulted in a couple of recommendations to Intersolia. Some propositions have been submitted to further developement of the system.
