Abstract [sv]

The projects purpose is to develop a software application for mentally disabled. By this application they should hopefully enhance their life quality. The project concerns the development of a prototype system, including a handheld computer telephone (smartphone) as client unit. It can be seen as a complement to a personal assistant, it keeps track of tasks to be accomplished during the day. The project includes two parts, one server part and one client counter part. Usability is a vital part of client. The server part is for the assistants who are planning their days with different events. The data between the units will be sent as XML document, this to decrease the amount of data. The smartphone as is used is Qtek 1010. The application has been programmed in C# and the development platform that has been Visual Studio.NET. The system is a part in bigger project by Varbergs Commune.
