Abstract [sv]
The objective for project hatchup has been developing an aid for opening, closing and stabilization of Rutgerson Marin’s series of hatches. To stabilize the hatch, Rutgerson Marin has earlier solved this problem by using hinges with variable friction that neutralizes the weight of the hatch. Unfortunately, the friction causes the user to experience difficulties when opening the hatch. The aid, which we have developed, is a moment absorbing stay. We used torsion springs to neutralize the weight from the hatch in the interval 0 – 180 degrees. That is; from closed to fully open. Therefore, the friction in the hinges can be lowered. These two combined makes the hatch easier to handle by the user and the hatch can be fixed in optional positions. A major concern of the work during the development of hatchup has been the design. The product meet up with the design in Rutgerson’s other product range and when mounted, it offers a satisfying general impression.
