Abstract [sv]
A Game Boy Advance is a handheld game system from Nintendo. It has interchangeable games stored on cartridges. A Game Boy Advance has a memory space of 32 MB, which could be too small for larger games with more advanced graphics. The goal of this degree project has been to connect a CD-ROM-device (with ATA/ATAPI-connection) to a Game Boy Advance in order to make it possible for more space demanding games and programs. To accomplish this task, an interface has been designed and created, which can be connected between the Game Boy Advance and the game cartridge. The game on the cartridge can then use the much larger memory space now available. To make illegal use more difficult, the interface has been designed to only let CDs complement the cartridge, and not to replace it.
