Påverkar EU-medlemskap läroplaner? En komparativ studie av Finlands, Sveriges och Österrikes läroplaner.

2003 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [sv]
In 1995 the three countries; Finland, Sweden and Austria joined the European Union. The purpose of this comparative study is to find out if and if so, how the membership has influenced the curricula of the comprehensive school in the three countries. The study asks if the membership has influenced the aim and guidelines of the curricula. The problem has been structured in three dimensions to make it easier to identify changes. The material compared are the first curricula edited after the Second World War and the curricula edited in connection to the countries entering the memberships of the EU. The study emanates from two theories; the nationalist theory and the theory of political communication. The method is comparative and because that the numbers of states compared are so few the study uses both a most different systems design (MDSD) and most similar systems design (MSSD). The result of the comparison shows that the membership of EU has no impact on the national curricula.
