Abstract [en]
In the early days of laboratory measurements, logging, controlling and surveillance had to be done by manual setup and reading of the measurement devices. Today, there is software that enables this to be done from a personal computer connected to the measurement process. There is also software that enables the user to fully control the measurement devices remotely over the Internet. This thesis presents tests and implementations that verify and evaluate these abilities, using National Instruments’ LabVIEW 6.1. To get an overview of the measurement process, an image acquisition device, e.g. a web camera, could be added to the process. As there is no free support for image acquisition devices in LabVIEW, a method for implementing a web camera, using modified freeware is also presented in this thesis.
