The final project has been to construct a small transmitter for placement on different objects who need to be guarded. The transmitter is based on a FSK-transmitter and it needs to have very low power consumtion and be maintenance free. Between each transmission this device needs to go into "sleep mode" i.e. most of the functions is turned off to save power. A lot of work has been spend on finding devices with good performance. The transmitter is build with surface mounted devices on a two layer PCB to save place. Calculations shows that battery life are a couple of years on common button cell batterys.This is possible because the transmission time are only a few milli-seconds.
