Abstract This dissertation project has been made in collaboration with a company, AB Ph. Nederman & Co, who´s buisness idea is represented by their catch-phrase ”Improving your workspace”. Nederman aim at reducing the load on the individual and increasing the efficiency at the workingsite. They do this by taking care of air pollutions and screen of harmful and disturbing light and noise. The task has been to improve a low-pressure extractor arm, used in the welding buisness. The arm is delivered in parts and the customers have to mount it themselves. By developing a new type of hose clamp and a fastening device for the area between the hose and the support arm, NEX HD has been made even more efficient and user-friendly. This improvement has been achieved through hand-made and Catia V5 sketches and by the producing and testing of several dummies in the Nederman laboratory. The result consists of two prototypes, both with a great potential of further development and serial production.
