Abstract [sv]

This dissertation project was done in co-operation with Dolomite Aquatec. Dolomite Aquatec is a company that makes aids for people with disabilities. One of their products, the showering chair Laguna Vip, has a leg support that can be attached when needed. The joint of the leg support is worn down because of its construction and misuse. The idea with the project was to improve and develop a new joint. Through idea generating, several proposals were brought out and with help of criterias the good ones were sorted out. The solutions that were left were once again marked by more specific criterias. The three proposals that were sorted out were developed in to complete solutions, with drawings, choice of materials and prototypes. Unfortunately not all of the solutions could have a prototype made because of the high manufacturing costs. The final solution that was chosen was the Kon. This because it has larger gripping surface between the splines and that it is user friendly.
