Abstract [sv]

Abstract The purpose of this dissertation project has been to construct a new bikelift for transportation of bikes on the roof of the car. Our aim with the project has been to find a cheaper and easier solution than the existing bikelift. The project has been done in co-operation with WM-data Caran AB that has given us supervision and Volvo Accessories that has been our employer. We have also been in contact with Thule Sweden AB that manufactures several of Volvos accessories. We started up with a brainstorming together with people at WM-data Caran AB, which resulted in 14 product proposals. Those proposals were compared with our criteria and the three that best fulfil the criteria were presented for WM-data Caran AB, Volvo Accessories and Thule Sweden AB. After the meeting we went on working with one of the proposals. The work that followed implied detailed construction solutions and calculations. The final solution were made in Catia V5.
