Abstract [sv]
This report is made in co-operation with a CM-company, Byggfast AB. The background of our task has been the lack of involvement and interest of clients in the construction process. We have in this report concerning Construction Management, CM, examined if this project management form is a way to reduce their lack of involvement. The examination is carried out by analysing interviews with clients, CM-companies and and contractors in two CM-projects. The conclusion of these analyses is that the type of CM used is not the critical issue, but the personal relations between the parties involved and the CM-company's overall knowledge about the construction process' different stages. CM can lead to increased involvement of the client in the construction process. This presupposes that they have earlier experience of the concept and they thereby understand the advantages of increased engagement.
