Quality certificates according to ISO 9001-2000 require documentation following strict specifications. To fulfil these requirements in the classic form of documents on paper is no longer realistic for a bigger company. Hotel Tylösand has therefore broken new grounds for the hotel business. As the first Swedish Hotel, Hotel Tylösand has a computerised quality management system, where all documentation is classified as original documents. The system is based on Java Active Server Pages (ASP). The user- friendliness is being developed constantly, both to fulfil the requirements of the standard and to be a tool easy to use with a broad range of users. The project has basically been conducted at Hotel Tylösand, to be able to get to know and solve problems in the working structure of this type of business. User friendliness and how to handle data from guest surveys have been the major parts of the project.
