Abstract [sv]
The major goal with this study was to describe homo-, bi- and heterosexual womens´ understandings and perceptions of being a part of a team where individuals have different sexual preferences. The eleven subjects interviewed were women football and floorball athletes, of wich five were heterosexual and the remaining six were homo- or bisexual. The results showed that the major reasons why the homo- and bisexual atheletes decided not to "come out of the closet" were fear of being treated differently, as well as afraid of the risk of being left out of the group. The heterosexual subjects believed that they had gainded a more positive attitude towards homo- and bisexuals as a whole since their participations in teams where homo- and bisexuality exists. Suggestions are given for further research. For example, do leaders ned educations in dealing with homophobia and homonegativism in teams with a non- heterosexual preference.
